The boat is OK but no boat other than a workboat should ever be underway with fenders hanging out.

Just OK? What's your choice then, LOL. :p
Re. the fenders, I think they have a lock every few miles in Holland.

In fact it's very difficult to find pretty motorboats, but there's lots and lots and lots of beautiful sailing boats; maybe it's all that white canvass...........

This design is from George Beuhler.

Owned by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. I took this picture in 1967, does anyone know the fate of this boat? In my view the most beautiful motor cruiser I have ever seen.

    Wow, that's some boat!!!
Just shows, there's nothing new in the world; that's an early super slim low drag displ. hull.

    Bet you it was fast.:)

Very pretty boat, but i think the aft hard top spoils the line of the boat.
Love the stowage for the tender!

Double ended boats are very nice, and very traditional too, but usually sailboats.

Interesting sheer line, nearly Polynesian looking.

From the same site, the 35' Odyessy looks good........

Here's a short video about curraghs from the west of Ireland. Jaunty little tar and canvass boats that have a very traditional appeal.

When I was young a next door neighbour used to build these in his garden.;)
.....lazy b'trds have outboards on them now!!!

I'd read that a similar ship used for blockade running had previously been famous for a top speed of 16kt on her 360 HP engines. Though by the time she was running the union blockade her fastest days were said to be behind her.

If that claim were accurate then with a modern diesel we could be talking 1 mpg at flank speed (better going slower, of course) on a boat large enough take a small extended family around the Great Loop in style for just a middle-classed fortune in fuel.

    ......Snap, that's my dream too.
Looking like a Cat is the only way to do it, but they are very expensive; well i suppose your'e really buying 'two' boats in one.

I'll offer my Cherubini Classic 20, which is seen in double-cockpit and single-cockpit versions in the photos below:
