After seeing the huge and great work you've done, I´d like everything to go perfectly.
This would be a good topic for discussion: how to avoid problems in the release?. Surely in the forum there are experienced people who can give very valuable feedback.

im sure it'll be fine mate.

main thing for avoiding problems is to make sure all the angles are right and then apply plenty of mould release wax and some pva to make sure it all comes out ok.

got the gunnel mould off today and have to say im well chuffed with it.

1 little tiny bit of damage to repair.

just needs the edges trimming up and wash the pva out and its ready for a quick wet flat and polish.

have now got the wheelhouse plug built and coated with duratec surface primer ready for flatting down and polishing.

once the mould is made i'll then use the plug to build the roof plug and mould.

have now started to make the mould of the wheelhouse.

have got 2 gels and 3 layers of mat on the front section today.

should have the front finished tomorrow and have both sides started.

Looking good! Looking a little cramped for space too.

I've probably asked but have forgotten...what kind of resin do you use on the molds and what kind of resin on the boats and parts?

    cheers mate.

space is a major problem at the moment.

i was meant to be moving in to a bigger workshop but that has now fallen through so will have to stay where i am for now.

i use general purpose polyester resin on the moulds and a Lloyds approved polyester resin to build the boats which is a requirement on the build side of the boats which is part of the CE plating.

I have no idea of how big your cabin is relative to your hull but offer a bit of caution.
I did a design for a 20' asymmetric cat (somewhat like you hull) some years ago. It was a simple center console and several were built and proved quite capable. One did a run down the BC west coast averaging 28 knots.
However, unknown to me, one was sold and the new owner put a fairly large (6' x 5') cabin on it and the weight, LCG, VCG, plus the windage etc was altered enough that the handling and sea-keeping properties were somewhat compromised.

thanks for the heads up mate.

will keep that in mind when it comes to sea trials.

the cabin funny enough is just over 5ft wide and around 6ft 6" long.

it is quite a low profile cabin so hopefully it won't make too much difference to the boats handling.

roof plug is now all made and painted ready for sanding and polishing.

ive gone for a pretty basic roof which has got a section for an opening hatch or fixed glassed window.

the 2 long strakes down either side allow an radar arch to be mounted on and handrails. also the 2 long strakes actually sit level with other which means it should be easier to make the radar arch fit as there are no awkward angles to be cut and welded.

the 2 smaller strakes are just for a bit of added strength in the roof panel itself but can be used to mount other bits on the roof.

i have got a friend to make me a dash plug whilst i was doing the roof and i should have that back with me tomorrow.

its got a few nice shapes to it and should work really well.

will post up pics of dash plug once i have it back and painted.
