Not my dog but this is exactly how she looks like coming in from the snow-bound backyard. What is it about dogs and sticking their heads into snow? A little ostrich DNA someplace perhaps?

Thanks WestVanHan, I possibly have read 90% of them :). Growing up on a U.S. military base in the 50`s and 60`s on the south west coast of Newfoundland we Islanders had the privilege of being exposed to some of the kindest people and the most up to date technologies and information sources on earth. One of the big spinoffs for me was our U.S. military family friends kept me more than supplied in great magazines. Pop.Science, Pop Mech, Nat. Geo, plus a large selection of Hot Rod, Electronics, boating and later in life Girlie. :p I discovered very early the need to edit and condense which resulted in a collection I still cherish.

I seem to recall from my bubble gum aircraft collector cards that this strange little post war jet fighter was to be slung under a mother bomber as fighter protection. Looks like a Saber that was left in the dryer too long.

It was called a Goblin, and was supposed to attach to B-29 in flight, be towed to the combat area, then disconnect and protect.
Hopefully it could reconnect since it had very short range.

I think I got the Goblin carrier wrong. It was intended to be used on the B36, not the B29

    That's what Wikipedia says.
    That's the gospel- right?
