Merry Christmas 2013!

Christmas is my holiday-if it's not yours I hope you have a great holiday! A special time of year even though I still can't get used to the warm temperatures and clear blue skies. When I was a kid in Pensacola we had a lot of cold, wintry(like) Christmases which I still remember-even had snow once. 2012 was a year from hell-this year has been much better for the most part. I'm still not over the sadness from 2012 but I'm in a much more positive frame of mind -and damn thankful for that.

Merry Christmas to all . . . especially the regular forum contributors.

I'll be taking my Christmas morning sail as usual and I'll think about the rest of you, as I consider a tee shirt or bare back. A cold front will drop in Tuesday night, so the lovely low 80's will replaced by the more seasonal low 70's. I expect 10 to 15 knots on the local puddle, so a nice scoot for a change. It's been light winds in all but one or two Christmas sails in the last several years. Now, I have to decide which boat. If I could sell a few of these puppies, I wouldn't have these decisions. How many of you have a half a dozen or more boats?

I'll spend Christmas at home and then some time down in the yard. Electrical work is all done except for new battery installation and a little A/C wiring. Time to get into the head and install the plumbing. Wish I could join you Paul, but at least I have heaters.

 

I have heaters too and use them 3 or 4 times a year . . .

 

My holiday time off has been great though not typical Christmas weather. Here in Wilmington NC we had mid 70 °F and breezy yesterday allowing me a trip out on my boat . Was 80 °F today. Been great, but the the front is headed our way.

Heaters...3 AM and the ac just kicked on again. Merry Christmas y'all!

 

I'm up too, can't sleep (not unusual) and the A/C kicked on a few times tonight. Current temperature is 67 degrees and it'll be 86 tomorrow. There's a Bermudian high that's been dominating for a while, but it's rolling east, sucking the midwest low over with it. This is a common early winter pattern for us, though the cold air that's going to drop down behind that low that's about to move through, is a little lower then normal, so we'll see some rain along the front boundary (maybe). We don't get much rain this time of year, so it's welcome. We do get nice, predictable and steady breezes this time of year.
