I am trying to procure a Paramarine for my lab. Does anyone know how much it cost in total(or education version)? I need to have an estimate to apply for the funding.
    I'll appreciate your comments.

I emailed them but they refused to give me the price.
Anyway, thank you for your suggestion:)

That's a pretty interesting commercial practice...

    I couldn't believe it too :(
    But that's true.
So would it be possible for you to give me a rough approximation of Paramarine. Our budgets are limited and I just want to know whether we should keep in consideration.
    Thank you for your help!:)

I asked for a quote a couple of days ago too, and they still haven't replied.

It does of course depend on which modulus you wish to purchase. But when i got mine, some 8years ago, it was around £5k and up to around £10k if the full suit, or something like that? They did at one stage, not sure if they still offer it, had just the lines generation as stand alone package for around £1k. It was (at the time i saw and used it) the most powerful 3D geometry/lines generation program I'd ever come across. It was amazing...almost scary like it was from the future. But that was sometime ago now. I think NX is similar now.

Thank you so much for your kindly reply. According to the inflation and other factors, the full suit cost might rise to £100k or higher( just guesswork:)).
Maybe a little bit expensive for us.
NX is really useful and I would like to try it as an alternative.
    Thank you!:)

No, it wont be far off £10-15k or so..

NX is very expensive, but is more a modeller, than a suit of technical naval architecture driven programs for the design of vessels, such as resistance, saeakeeping etc etc, as well as geometry modelling and FEA, which NX can do too.

    Really? I found a page →http://www.government-online.net/supply-of-paramarine-license/
    , and it's £10,000 – £113,000 (I don't know if it's true or not).

I'm not familiar with NX, but I have heard about it before. I'll find some information about NX and other softwares in case we can't have Paramarine.Thank you very much.:)

Hey there Comrade! it took a couple of days for my quote to get through. (I hope it's the same as what they quoted you or else they are playing favourites!)

For Australians, a license for 1 year for Paramarine and three modules (Structural, Hydrostatics, and Powering) will cost about £9,900 GBP.

    That's consistent, Jen.
Shame we can't pay for it with spools of yttrium wire like we used to back
    in the 80's!
