Tactician is admittedly very important, once compared to the conscience sitting on each shoulder.... might have been Skip Novack, cant remember.... the good tactician is the little birdie saying "if we do this that'll ***** 'em, they ceaselessly hunt opportunities of advantage. I worked alongside one that did assist in winning that cup, a very driven & focused man, would pursue aims to completion & a good bloke too.

I'm sure there was no issue with the beer, obviously Australian sailors are very adaptable to new circumstances...... new record & a win in the coastal Classic all in the same week................

The boat and its skipper are simply trying to build a profile.

Whats wrong with that ? Without a media profile how else would the skipper seek additional sponsorship for a new boat to compete in new events.

Sounds like you have a chip on your shoulder .

So is Vodafone New Zealand? Was this Team Australia vs Team New Zealand?

Not at all Spaniard. Its not a new boat. Only a paint job.

I was merely stirring the aussie which kiwis all ways do and like wise aussies always razz kiwis. You obviously don't understand the long embattlement between trans tasman rivary. Corely claimed Vodafone a kiwi boat was convincingly beaten by Team Australia.

In the past when these two boats have raced against each other with there standard crews Vodafone has always won. This time they recruit at least past 5 times match racing world champion as tactician Chris Dickson and Sanderson the Americas cup crew member from team nz, who it just so happens are KIWIS as well on the aussie boat racing a 100% crewed kiwi boat..
    ,
Accordingly they win. I was high lighting this point as in all probability had they not they would have lost.

You come in and state I must have a chip on my shoulder [ has Corley made any suggestion to that affect he knows perfectly well it was dig and I know perfectly well he was giving me a dig. I don't think there was any animosity. ] and state they are building a profile so they can gain sponsorship what's is wrong with that? Dishonesty that's what is wrong with that unless Dickson and Sanderson remain as crew if they get additional sponsorship or get equivalent or better crew than them, to answer your question.

It would be wrong and dishonest to scam a sponsor you have won this and that with crew on board that are not going to be on board when their sponsorship is in place with a under preforming crew and vessel which surely would result.

Drawing some pretty long bows there,
plenty of profile already on Team Aus, a great foundation to build more success on, that some top Kiwi talent was keen to get on board for the race speaks volumes on its own. There would be no dishonesty in representation to sponsors.

Team Aus won plain & simple, let the record stand, there's always next year........

Thanks! So, the Aussies have bragging rights this year. Now, I can muddle through some of the comments.

You are assuming or do you have information. Sanderson and Dickson do not get on board usually unless they are paid.

I dissagree it would be a scam to represent you can win races and get exposure with their normal crew.

If they have profile only in Aussie, then Vodafone has 10 times more profile.

Team Australia have two small sponsors at the moment.

Yachting does not need sponsorships scams in these times.

It was reported by a high profile yachting website re Dickson the tactician and inferred that he was the reason for there success and if you follow the tracker snail trail it shows tactically team Australia got a big jump and vodafone took a big knock at a critical time in the race only a expert would pick.

No dispute team Australia won. The question is why when they do not normally win against Vodafone. DICKSON 5 Times world champion Match racer title holder and ex Americas Cup challenger skipper Perth KZ 7 making the calls.

So be honest and I'm saying it would be dishonest in any bodies language with sponsors if they do not declared it on their C/Vs and race record.

So you believe everything written & implied by a high profile yachting website, I'm all for journalistic integrity but the implied is not nessessarily fact, the Australian vessel just set a trans Tasman record, then matched Vodaphone in the race for speed most of the distance, they apparently had some sail lashing issues along the way, fell behind & made better speed to catch up, a break came & not implied but spoken by the skipper of Team Aus that it appeared Vodaphone had a sail issue & they(Team Aus) sailed through to Victory Lane........
The name of the vessel tells all, the crew in it's entirety contributed to the win...... along with the vessels sponsors & yard crew, so far I reckon those sponsors have received pretty fair value over the last fortnight...... Trans Tasman record, win in the New Zealand Coastal Classic, a couple of months back a record sailing time for Sydney to Hobart, given that I see four sets of stickers/signage on board, Zhik http://www.zhik.com/gallery , Kermandie http://www.kermandie.com.au/home.aspx , Noakes,http://www.noakes.net.au/ & Harken, the Skipper openly has business interests in two of those enterprises, there would be plenty of reasons to be really stoked & the great competition provided by Team Vodaphone in the latest challenge has lifted profile of multi racing down the Southern end of the World.........
    All the best from Jeff.

Yes..lifting profile is what its all about when youre seeking sponsors. Big names on board are part of the game.

If it were me I would invite the Pope as crew...
