    Anyone fancy a nice holiday . . . :D

Here a drift ice camp in the ‘‘ice free’’ Arctic Ocean, launched from the Chinese Xuě Lóng, which completed a Trans-Arctic Voyage in 2012.

30 September 2011, end of the summer, note the ice thickness* as can be seen right of the middle of the pic.
    * . . . and think of merchant shipping . . .

Having done that sort of thing at the other end of the globe, I can say that *nothing* would get me to do it for fun or a holiday. Unless you've been there, you would not believe just how fast a seemingly solid ice floe can break up under the right (wrong) conditions.

No, my idea of a holiday is watching the little red ants on the floe from the warmth & comfort of my heated bridge, with coffee maker to hand. On a good day, I'd go out for a stroll on the ice for a while, then it's back to the ship, hot meals, a warm bunk and a decent (well, acceptable) bathroom....

;) . . the drift ice camp holiday idea was just kidding, hence the ‘‘:D Big Grin’’ smiley behind it . . ;)

The Xuě Lóng is an ice breaking research vessel, perhaps those researchers can better judge and deal with the dangers than the average (future?) holiday goer there . . ? ?

Michael linked in post#15 what this Chinese interest in the Arctic is about . . .

    Cheers,

The floe there at the end of the summer was till recently much more fast ice and ice packs at the same time of the year, so something is changing, hence the start of international commercial shipping on the NSR (Northern Sea Route) was now possible.

BTW, Gore spoke of reducing* arctic ice and not about ‘‘NO ice’’ as you claim, think you're a bit confused here . . :p
    * which the start of international commercial shipping on the NSR also indicates.
But hey, there's an arctic ice increase / decrease thread already on this forum . . .

    Cheers,
    Angel

    No. I am not confused.

Gore made Billions by sending American jobs to China and Asia and then profiting off of 'Ozone Depletion,' and now 'Global Warming.'

But, such is life, the elite get filthy stinking rich, and the proletariat supports them ....

I thought the USSR was dead and buried?

But, on the bright side, China now control resources in the Arctic, Antarctic, Africa, Russia, Americas, Europe, Australia, just about the entire planet ....

You just thought CO2 emissions were high last decade .... wait till you see what happens next decade ....

Already, cities are being shut down in China because the smog is 10 or more times the hazard level ....

I started in the Boat Jokes thread tonight, and you and Hoyt were in there pitching your politics hot and heavy. Then I came to this thread, and here the two of you are all over again. I'm almost scared to look anywhere else... you two might have taken over the whole website. :p

Again I ask for your source.

Even if you were talking about Bush or Nixon or Cheney, or McCain or who ever I will ask the same.
It is not a political question, just a reasonable one which I asked before and you never answered.

US corporations buy from China, US corporation use china as a platform to built what was made before in the US.
We all know that, so thank you for the old (20 to 30years) information.

No vice president send any job anywhere.

No, sorry, one exception: but it was a President: Nixon sent his closes to a dry cleaner in Washington. Is the dry cleaner was Chinese?
If so, Nixon send at least a $75 job to the Chinese.

HA! You are back. That means you finished your boat!

    Congratulations.

Now, we were taking over the site, and here you show back up to corrupt US! Well, we tell jokes, even if non-traditional folks don't appreciate traditional jokes ....

    Welcome aboard.

As Troy would point out, this forum should not get too political.

So, if you would read my blog, I cover NAFTA there.

I was one of the unfortunate person who read your blog. You cover nothing, but that's your problem.
Now you are really an hypocrite, you start a political statement and when you are caught your pants down you swim backward as fast as you can and tell me what the forum should be.
    Your attitude speaks volume.
I suggest you refrain to make stupid statements which have no values what so ever.

    Dskira,

You make the mistake of attacking the person .... Ad hominems is usually a poor use of logic.

But, since you love them so much, might I point out, logic does not usually flow from someone with your grammar skill.

    Adios.
