NZ will have to beat OR on tactics, the Oracle boatspeed downwind is faster at lower angles. Not by a small margin, either.
If Oracle win this event, they will have deserved it.

Downwind definitely. But as we saw, a couple of mistakes would have lost it for the Orcs.

The video coverage and graphics were exceptional in this race; it helped to
show the paths of the boats, especially on leg 4.

Mighty huge container ship just off the bridge bringing Chinese consumer goods. Looks big enough to affect winds.

Another great race. This sudden death situation for Oracle really enhances the suspence.

My god, it is a long road they have to hoe, and now we have race number 15 being set up.

Remember Valencia, with 2 races altogether?

This is a lot more to my liking.

Oracle one minute ahead as they turn upwind. The tension is killing me....

You have to laugh - "The Kiwis are so relaxed despite being behind" - for sure - I wish I was in a race with so many 'second' chances.

Any conspiracy theorists wondering about back room deals to extend the series, and the advertising value ?

Mister Canadian: your post was all about Americans but the last two or three pages of "whineing and crying" were by Australians, a Brit, an Austrian, a German, a South African ! With almost no American comment except for Phil Sweet, me and Randy..... You should take it all back.......

Every now and then the Kiwis scare the hell out of me-then our Aussies and Brit pull it together! Geez, what great racing-I wish my Dad and brother were alive to see this..........

    Congratulations to Team USA!!!

They say maybe lighter tomorrow-below 16 and Oracle could be in trouble.

    Another boring blow out.

I think the starts in these races are fantastic because there are some tactics
and close racing. But once one boat gets a few hundred metres ahead it's
pretty dull. The prospect of the Orcs stringing together several wins in a row
adds the much needed tension to make it interesting.
