We should pattern the 'family' after the clampets .... A little less hick and a little more "long island" accent.

They struck gold making silly art that floats.

I'd suggest checking out the airboat builders, particularly in Louisiana (Mark's Airboats) and Florida (Diamondback Airboats), to mention a couple. Granted, the hulls are nothing exciting and not a lot of thought is put into them from an engineering standpoint or seakeeping ability, but the builders/buyers are pretty passionate about the powertrains on those boats. Outside of the hull, every powertrain is pretty custom.

Yes, it is taking quite a tangent from what you were looking for. OTOH, it fits in with the whole 'southern swamp' thing that is so popular on reality TV nowadays.

I think there is a pretty popular airboat forum on the web somewhere.

You could film some great "snakes on boats." Jaws meets pythons ....

Hey guys, I wanted to introduce myself. I am Tim Safford, Casting Director working on this with Developmentexec. I would love to speak to some of you over the phone or SKYPE and learn about your process and what you are currently building. I also created a link on my casting website for people to fill out information and connect with me. If you want to pass along the link to anyone, here it is:
    https://www.saffordproductions.net/ncshow.php?nc_id=40.
I know that the creative of the show is still being finalized so I would love to hear from all different types of builders from the super custom tricked out yacht. To the novelty parade boat builders. My main focus is to get to know the community and see who is interested and who has a great personality - Thanks.

    .

Here's another fine boat. I've always liked sternwheelers, but this paddlewheeler is imaginative, and the paddles are steerable.

Hey, I like it, maybe you can sponsor my Herding Cats Catamaran Build Cooperative.

Great personality I don't know, but you can pick the other two builders. :)
I'm planning a solar powered electric boat, don't know what the other two will want.

Gave me a thought...we get a little drama here by having our three builders build the same basic boat, but i'm the tech green nerdy dude with the solar powered electric version, we have the buff macho guy who is doing the diesel powerboat version, and then skinny weasel sailor guy. We all must help each other build all three boats, but all different 'personality'.
Herding cats indeed. :) I'm up for it, if you're sponsoring..

I would like to nominate/suggest a fine boat builder in Florida.

See Russ Hann and Kevin McLaughlin at Hann Powerboats Inc. in Sarasota, FL.

    Thank you.
