Live cam re-floating the Concordia

If anyone has a better live cam, let me know. The only decent one I have found was at Reuters. I posted to my blog.

It looks like everything is going to schedule. I do not see what looks like overly excited boats running around. In circles.

But, for a live feed of a raising, it is like "watching grass grow."

This has gone slower than watching grass grow, but you can finally see the ship has moved. Looks to be about 3 to 4 feet so far, with camera angles that might be up to 8 to 10 feet.

Update: It is moving, looks like about 10 degrees so far, but does anyone think they will make their 10 - 12 hour projection at this rate?

Interesting to see this happening.

The risk is it could break apart. I think it will work. What a waste. People have so much ingenuity then look what they do.

 

And it has been real, real, real slow.

Grass grows that fast. But, if they keep going at this rate, they will be done by tomorrow.

They're getting about a meter per hour of rotation, which isn't that slow really, when you think about what they're doing.

I just saw that watching the live cam from my blog.

Isn't it amazing.

PAR, it is fast considering what they are doing. But, I really do not think they are close to their schedule. Maybe four hours behind?

How many meters of rotation do they have left? 30?

 

They are over half way done - I think.

1219 CST time they are briefing that they had a problem, and they fixed it about an hour ago.

They have been fixing a problem with the sponsons.

And they plan on working through the night, until after midnight.

 

This news briefing is hilarious .... They had a spare tire for their flat tire, that is why they are late.

"And that is the problem with this country. Here we have planned for this problem, and we fixed it. And you are complaining."

Italians ... have a funny sense of humor.

"And we won't discuss the ecological impacts and risks, that would go on forever."

 

I heard it was ~$3 billion to build, and so far ~$800,000,000 to recover

 

She appears to be upright currently, very low, but upright, as I saw at about 12:45 EDT.
