Try your local area first, you may be surprised what may turn up and usually cheap. I have rebuilt many old O/B`s.

    Spares

The only spares for older motors I've been able to find are on eBay...but surely consumables should still be available ,filters , plugs, impellers. It can be frustrating , researching is the Bain of my life but unless your prepared to spend serious dosh on a new motor you have to do it.

Welcome to the forum Shskyline. Did you cut and paste that directly from you web site or is this your way of advertising?

BTW, the OP is listing a parts issue for a Johnson, which isn't in your list of brands covered, so is this just spam or what?

Par, thanks for your kindly comment. We do have some spare parts for Johnson, such as water pump impller and aluminum propeller, I forget to add the Johnson brand onto our products list. I will do revise it. thank you again.

Is that the 60 twin or 3-cylinder ? Either way, they were both produced in very large numbers, the 60 twin was very similar to the 50 and 55 hp, and the 3 cylinder 60 was a de-tuned version of the 70, there must be plenty of parts available.

thats why I was interested to know what was hard to find
    60 in 1980 makes it a twin

I own 4 sst45 race engines, cant see a problem with any part new
( except the original rods and they where different in the race powerhead and no-one knows why)
    PS The sst45 is a 85 2 cyl modded
