Does any one know what controller I could use with a Tocman TM685-40 that can provide regen?

Also if I will need any type of gearing system or if straight to prop will work?

    Thanks

    ??

Water drive props are generally more efficient at low rpm so yes you would need gearing to get the high rpms geared lower. Not sure this is the best RC motor choice as it seems its wound for pretty high revs.

endless sphere forum (http://endless-sphere.com/forums) is the best place to start educating yourself about the RC systems and conversions for other use. For boat use people can't answer questions about props etc. without knowing the boat and speed also.
Jeremy on these boards has done nice electric boat work. He might chime in.

I believe that is the motor used in Torqeedo I have one that I plan to pull apart and make it inboard.

The boat is a 28ft catamaran 3.5ton dont care so much about speed just want to get in and out of harbors and anchorages.

    Thanks

Regen is useless for getting in and out of harbors.
