    Thoughts to share.

Dick Newick designed a 51' Tri for a customer about 10 years ago. This gentleman just single-handed the boat from the South Pacific up to Hawaii. He's 77. Dick just flew into Hawaii to meet him. Dick is about 85. The two of them are sailing from Hilo to San Francisco. Average age of crew is over 80.

Makes me feel better already. I'm 70 and am just completing the build of a 6.4m tri for cruising.

John Guzzwell sailed his 30'er "Endangered Species', that he built, in the Singlehanded Transpac when he was 75+.

And Webb Chiles is planning a singlehanded circumnavigation starting next year, when he will be 71... in a 24' boat.
It would be his 6th circumnavigation.

I'm in baldness and oldness denial, so you old farts have fun.

I'm on my way to 76 right now. My long voyages are a thing of the past.
Rowing about a small local lake fishing, especially at night, is my voyage these days.
I understand the wanderlust of going to sea though.

Thanx much. The Moore 24 is a great boat, even though they are no longer made. We have an '84 that we still sail reggularly.

Like my mostly Indian grandfather on my mother's side (who went to his grave in his 80's with coal black hair), my only real vanity is my hair. I don't generally make a fuss about it, but at age 64 almost all of it's still there, and almost all of it is still the ash blond it settled into after I outgrew my tow-headed childhood.

Unfortunately, when it comes to oldness denial my hair is in direct conflict with my waistline - not to mention my wrinkled neck and elbows. And I think it's losing the argument.... :(

Shove that waistline into those wrinkled areas to take up the slack skin. :D

I keep complaining when my barber trims my ear hair. I WAS planning on combing it over the top, when long enough! :(

You've got an Exacto knife and a ShopVac, so what are you waiting on . . .

    Troy,

Like they say, with friends like that, you may not need any enemies.
