I do not believe TiMIT exists as a supported project. I am fairly certain there's no way to get any version of the WAMIT source code, it's a commercial product.

It had long been my understanding that, though new versions are commercial, old versions of WAMIT were open source. The MIT website seems to suggest that indeed this was previously that case. Was it not?

If so, shouldn't that version (not a current one) be able to be distributed?

The simplest answer is no, and I think I contacted Chang-Ho Lee with just such an inquiry once but maybe you ought to do the same to confirm:

It should be able to be distributed, but there is no compunction for it to
actually be distributed. You can ask for an old copy (and I'd like one too!) but
you can't compel somebody to spend time finding the code and releasing it.

I'd like to see the source for WAMIT as well as Michlet :)

I understand the WAMIT theory and work with a similar (low order) panel method for seakeeping on a near daily basis, but I'd really like to see what methods are employed to get numerically stable results (solving, keeping track of and then integrating the potential gradients to get forces, then RAOs, impulse response functions, all accurate across various wave frequencies).

Which part of Michlet? Some of the source code might be well within your budget.
