How well did the waterjets work with the SES? How did you solve the problem of air ingestion into the waterjet?

Since 1984 or so...nearly all SES were waterjet propelled. Of the 35 or so that I was involved in after that date, only three were not jets; two of those were custom surface-piercing designs and one a pod drive.

The solutions to air ingestion experienced in the first couple of attempts were fairly simple; change the aft hull lines to be correct/apropriate for a jet intake instead of props (all the BH-110s were propellor driven and the first jet SES were based on the BH-110 hull lines..un-modified).

    It wasn't rocket surgery.

Would you be interested in manufacturing the designs under license?

    good question.
i just planned to built rib cats in 4,5. 6,5 and 8,5 meter. actually in
china or birma. i want a proper mould of 4,5 which i can cut in the middle to
extend with one or two 2mtr moulds same shape to get the length i need.
want to sell such comfortable ribs in thailand, germany and spain.

never thought about licenses. all hysumoulds sold now?

what about if you make the moulds, can you? i think if i let them make it
in hina they will not do a proper job.
let me know your ideas and prices, it seems you have more experiences.

    Hi Ralf,

Thank you for your interest, but having one mould and then just adding bits in the middle is not going to work.

Each boat, each design each design change end up being a new mould.

This is the expensive side of boat design.

Doesn't sound like you after a quality product.
