Once more we have been favored with a succulent morsel of truthiness from our Chief Diversion Officer and Cherry-Picker Par Excellence

What will really happen when the Yellowstone supervolcano erupts?

We are but a random evilutionary accident walking upon a gravitational collection of cosmic dust and yet there are those of us who visualize order and stability. Regardless of what we do as a human species we have absolutely no control in the final outcome, however maybe just maybe we can delay our self destruction and by luck avoid natural destruction long enough to seed another planet. And that my friends is as good as it gets. So what say we build "Miss Solar Wind"and go sailing :D
P,S, Who out there has the poster of, Miss Solar Wind. Over 30 plus yrs. of moving I have lost mine and would really like a copy. Also who out there knows of what I speak ??? I.E. Miss Solar Wind.

Peter Ferrara is a nut job and has been his whole career. I can understand why some enjoy his prose, mostly FOX news watchers I suspect, but anyone with a reasonable grasp can't take him seriously, as most of his assumptions are laughable, like much of libertarian crowd he hangs with.

Yo, The full page/poster was that idea but not that described picture-- Maybe Peter Ferrara has one hung in his office, :). We get Fox News but I'm not really a fan mostly watch CBC, CNN, and Global, so I'm not really familiar with him. I am convinced world wide warming is occuring and some side effects are presently taking place, namely melting glaciers and wild shifts in weather activity. Most of us have not actually seen or think about glacier melting, it 's really not that exciting however extreme weather seems to be on the increase. In this part of the continent rainfall and heat records continue to be broken at a much higher rate. I seem to recall ("seem" being a common occurance with age) that just 2 more deg. ave. temp. increase will trigger a new rain forest. location ? On the west coast of Newfoundland. The key factor often referred to is the changing ocean currents in our neck of the woods. Those of course being The Gulf Stream, and the intermix between the Labrador and Greenland Currents.

a homesteader chopping wood, asked an indian riding past, if the winter was going to be a cold one. Indian agreed the coming winter would be cold.
The homesteader decided to cut extra wood, and the same indian passed a couple days later. The homesteader asked if the winter would be particularly bitter. The indian acknowledged it would be bitter cold.
The homesteader was cutting an even larger supply of wood based on this intel, when the indian passed again after a few days. this time the indian admitted the winter would be the worst he'd ever seen.
The settler asked how the indian could tell how fierce the winter would be.
The indian explained, when the whiteman cut lots of wood, he knew the winter would be bad. :)

There are far worse things to concern oneself about than the climahype that seems impervious to rational rebuttal (because it's a religion). However, they are all connected.

    1. The perishing economies of the nations.

    2. Vanishing freedom (for those countries that had some).

    3. Looming global food crisis.

    4. Global Tyranny in the making.

As for the weather, it will continue to be variable until the Manufacturer's Rep arrives to deal with The Problem.

It seems more than slightly strange that you would pooh-pooh Climate Change because you think it "seems impervious to rational rebuttal (because it's a religion)", yet you continually spout "impervious to rational rebuttal" religious slogans yourself! :?:

If you count my (nautically related!) signature block as spouting, so be it. Personally, I find it a great comfort to have it in writing that The Creator and Judge is also my Saviour, and His written guarantee that He will be merciful to me, a wrethced sinner. Not sure what you're going to do about yours, but I can assure you DIY-soteriology doesn't cut it with Him. There is a difference between dead religion and living faith. I can rationally defend my faith, whereas religionists of whatever stamp sooner or later need to resort to the gag, pitchfork and gallows to get their way. Look into the latin meaning of the word "religion" and you'll find it means to re-bind, as in "restrain again". I'm a conservationist, not a radical antihuman planet worshiper and dupe of the AGM scam. It is unfortunate you are still under that yoke, and my opposition to you is on the grounds of attempting to limit the amount and spread of nonsense. I wish we could confine ourselves to boat design, but some folks cast down the AGW gauntlet and get miffed when someone takes it up. Kudos to you for sticking to an untenable position, it says something doesn't it. The ad-hominems demonstrate the true nature of the "debate". My sig-block never changes, but if it offends you, please feel free to block it or put me on ignore. If you are annoyed I'm not drinking your koolaid and have the temerity to speak openly about and against it, too bad. If you want to drop the subject and rather speak about boats, or the happenings that are drifting quickly towards us living in a boatless gulag, I'm all ears.

    Barmherziger Gott,
von allen Seiten umgibst du uns mit deiner Güte
und hältst deine Hand liebevoll über uns.
Warum können wir das nicht begreifen,
warum scheinst du uns manchmal so bedrohlich,
    dass wir deine Nähe abschütteln
und uns losreißen wollen von dir.
Gott, du kennst unsere verborgensten Ängste.
    Du verstehst,
was wir oft nicht einmal selber verstehen,
    Du wirbst um uns,
    bis wir zur Besinnung kommen,
    bis wir dich suchen
    und uns deiner Zärtlichkeit
    endlich überlassen.
    Hab noch Geduld mit uns,
    gib uns nicht auf!

Micah being a fellow agnostic(of the first half) I've always felt my religion is an extremely personal belief, best kept within such and not disrespectfully flaunted in the freedom of choice of others. While your sub post is a beautiful piece of poetry it's source is not the choice of all and in honour of it's teachings why disturb the peace by posting inappropiately.
