TANSL also laughs :):), a lot, to see that you think you have solved the problem.:):):)

Among the data that I have, I found the weight of a double bottom block of a tugboat. This block could be very similar to the double bottom of your boat. Well this block of 8 m in length, weight 30 tons.
In one of my projects, the complete structure of a passenger ship, GRP, 25 m in overall length, weighs 19.2 tons. (The GRP is considerably lighter than Steel.)
Can these data be helpful?. They are real data.
    Regards.

    Thanks

    Your support is highly appreciated, please, be informed that ship dimensions are L X B X D 24.5 x 6.4 x 4.1 mt.
I've modeling (not accurate design as per Rules) the boat using MAXSURF to estimate the Steel weight and found it around 35 ton... Is it acceptable or not?

Dear friend, your weight depends on many things that, at this point, I do not know:
    - General Arrangement
    - Service of the ship, navigation area, ...
    - Existence and length of the double bottom.
    - Number of transverse bulkheads.
    - Number of longitudinal bulkheads.
    - Number and extent of decks.
    - Equipment on deck and, therefore, local reinforced underneth.
    - Superstructure.
    - Protective metal elements outside of the hull.
    - type and height of bulwark.
Sorry but without knowing all that I can not estimate the weight. However, 35 tons for a Steel boat of this size, I find little weight.
    Regards

    Dear Sir,
I didn't like to deeply involved in the design operation, because it's a bidding tender so I may take it or not. As you may kindly find on my page that most of my designes are Wooden (GRP) Boats & Yachts.
As per your advice, I'm going to enter the design spiral operation using Class. Rules and design software to get the most accurate values and keep them for future projects.... Thanks

abohamza, the weight of the will be 60,000 lbs with a classic type of steel construction. Engines and so on are not included.
To built this ship will be 11,000 man hours.
This enough to start talking with the client.
In this line of work we have to deal with what customer give, or you are not good at your job.
Nothing is subjective at the first meeting, you have to be prepared.

By the way the client who asked:
Is a pro. he doesn't waste time because he knows that any shipyard and naval architect will know the approximation. He don't bother with detail now. Latter yes, but not now. Utility crew boat is the key word. No need for long and exhausting list right know.
Just get as pro as your customer, and deal appropriately.

dskira, assuming that you are right in all your opinions, I have no choice but to apologize for my arrogance and hope that no one was offended to say what I thought necessary to establish, perhaps inappropriately. I apologize again and send a greeting to everyone.

TANSL, I appreciate. My turn to apologies, You are a good man and I am truly sorry of my attitude and to have done what I accused you to do: patronizing.
I hope we will have the chance to exchanges ideas on other thread.

    nobility and cooperation attitude

    dskira & TANSL,

I feel so happy :D :)to be a reason of our friendship, I appreciate too much your nobility and cooperation attitude:);).

In the other hand, I am using Maxsurf software for Modeling the boat and I expect that the Hull weight may be more Than 28 ton (60,000 Ibs), it may reach 38-42 ton !!!!
