If you read the NASA news release that your article is allegedly based on, it has nothing to do with global warming or climate change. NASA researchers are talking about radiation emitted by the sun during a 4-day solar storm, and how the earth's atmosphere reacts to it.

For you AGW-skeptics, the most important point was a footnote at the end of the article:

    P.S.
How does one obtain 874 Rep points with only 5 posts? I'm impressed!

Simple: only boat-related posts are counted. So he's obviously spent a lot of time in the off-topic opinion threads like this one, instead -- where people who agree with him have boosted his rep....:)

    Dont worry about Rep points.

Reps are a scam..They have nothing to do with the positive thoughts or contributions your make.

Rep points are At'ta boy turds.

On Boatdesign you have made you presence felt . Keep at it

I once had the good fortune to fly over an amazing spectacle, where I saw all of the various stages of emergent phenomena involving thunderstorms. It happened on a flight over the Coral Sea from the Solomon Islands, which are near the Equator, south to Brisbane. Brisbane is at 27° South, and as a result, it is much colder than the Solomons.

It was overcast when we took off that early afternoon from Honiara, the capital of the Solomons. When we got up to altitude we crossed over the mountainous spine of the island and started south over the ocean. My attention was immediately drawn to the scene below me. I could see that for mile after mile over the ocean, the thunderstorms were all arranged in the long serried rows called “squall lines”.

'Bout time we had a pic in this doomngloom thread. Read the rest on the link. I like Mr E more and more, he went to Brissie!

Have you seen the movie "Branded", which explains how Lenin invented modern marketing and taught it to America?

I always watch movies when I want to learn history. Because Hollywood would never lie to us, even in a science fiction movie....:p

Who wrote the script for that one, Hoyt? Must've been Glenn Beck -- the same guy who 'taught' us that Nazis were really socialists and communists.

Or maybe it was Alex Jones, who claims the Oklahoma City and Boston Marathon bombings were both done by our own government.

Well.... one thing for sure..the Boston events media coverage , the official Orgy of state sponsored, lock down, , no fly zone, shoot to kill, blackhawk helicopter , armored personal carrier, violence ....... hyperventilated by the Media, was authentic.

This EVENT was unique in the modern world and marks a turning point of modern American history.

From the outside it looks ridiculous .....

Americans should worry about their freedom.

What will happen when a pair of truly violent characters goes on the loose.

    A nationwide LOCKDOWN ????

Did you think that post through, Michael, or are you just venting about the US again? Tell me, should the cops and federal agents have been ordered to shoot not to kill, when the suspects climbed out of their vehicles and started firing guns and throwing bombs? You know, unlike sheriffs in the old cowboy movies, real good guys aren't so superhuman that they can just shoot guns out of the bad guys' hands without hurting them, while under fire themselves....

And I guess that if they really had orders to 'shoot to kill,' the Watertown cops are in big trouble for taking the younger brother alive and rushing him to a hospital, instead of shooting him on the spot.

These two guys set off bombs that sprayed a crowd with ball bearings and nails, murdered an MIT police officer in cold blood, and not only initiated a firefight with the police in which another officer was seriously wounded, but threw more bombs while they were at it. If they don't qualify as 'a pair of truly violent characters,' who the !@#$ does?

their orders were to take them alive if possible. they need to know if they were part of a large "cell", and where/when other attacks were planned.

They only shoot back in defense. I had heard that older brother was shot after he charged cops wearing a vest that appeared to be wired. Do not know if it is true, there is a lot of speculation and false reporting of this event over the last week.

Lock downs are normal in every city if public safety is at risk. All your constitutional rights can be suspend temporarily if public safety is at risk, it has been that way since the beginning. As I recall they were advising people to stay in their homes for their own safety, and to prevent a hostage situation. Would you go out and wander around if you knew there were dangerous terrorist on the loose? I should hope not. All of the citizens were quite happy the police stopped them, terrorists deal in spreading fear, the police stopped it.
