Boat sits pretty high, obviously not a heavyweight, which makes the relatively small hp OK I guess.

won't be long till im out fishing.

just need the wind to die down and sea temps to rise a bit.

the fishing at the moment is pretty poor due to the sea temps being around 5 degrees.

 

it did sit a little higher.

i have put in a bit of ballast and that made a hell of a difference to how it sat.

as it is now its fine and with 2 people on board its spot on.

i have bought a set of 90hp carbs so as soon as they turn up i'll be getting them cleaned up and fitted.

should make the boat a whole lot better with the extra HP.

 

this has been a very interesting project right from the begining !!!

light weight is a good thing if its removable !! as has been said small hp is really what economy is all about keep the motor tuned and reap the benefits of more distance traveled for less !! with better materials and a bit of forward thinking when making boats you end up with a better product !!

 

been busy working the past few weeks and not had a chance to get the boat back in the water yet.

i did get couple days earlier this week to respray the engine and fit new decals.

this is how it looks now.

i have got an insurance approved lock on the mounting bolts so all good there.

i have ordered a set of 90hp carbs to get that bit more power from the engine and they should be here next week.

the boat is pretty much ready to use now.

just need 1 more trial before going for the big day out fishing to make sure all is ok.

 

new carbs have been fitted and tuned.

had the boat out yesterday and what a difference the 90 carbs have made.

much more responsive , better cruise and better top speed.

i managed to get 32.5 knots(37.4 mph) at 5600 rpm and cruised at 24 knots at 4000 rpm.

the boat now feels more like a speed boat. you hit the throttle and the bow lifts up on to the plane really quickly and then its off.

im well chuffed with how its come out.

i know its taken quite a long time to get the boat done but its been worth it.

my mate has got some video footage which im waiting for him to edit and send to me.

as soon as i get it i'll be posting up a lint to it.

Everest to climb next ???

Very well done and I am sure you will get many hours of pleasure and catch lots of fish to . its been a post with a really happy conclusion and out come from all the persistence and learning there only Everest to climb and you done it all !!

can't wait to get out and catch some fish now.

only thing stopping me is the poxy weather is now pants and theres not much fish being caught as water temps are about 4 degrees down on what it should be and a lot of the summer fish have not arrived yet.

hopefully things will improve over the next couple weeks and the fish will arrive.

has been a long hard journey to get to where i am now but i enjoyed very minute of building the boat from start to finish.

 

no fish on the deck yet mate as i've been too busy with work to get out but am hoping to get out next week and christen the boat.

ohh yeah and i've been busy with a project cat which i will put up a thread at a later date after i have got the hull built to a certain stage ready for me to take a mould off it.
