I'm not a kiwi but here is my opinion anyway :). It's a very interesting and proven boat which manages to fit a lot of cruising amenity combined with good performance into a relatively short waterline.

Yeah... It strikes me as a good format for someone who actually wants sail... unlike 90% of condo cats... but then it hasn't got a "house".

I suspect that it is not a popular format BUT I also suspect that it works alot better than people would think.

I'd agree... I only asked for Kiwi's in the hope of getting an opinion of someone who has actually sailed on or against one. I think they only exist in NZ?!

Yes... I know, has been for a long time.

I'd be a time waster at this point but maybe soon if things go well.

I wonder if she'd be OK to sail across the ditch to Oz, she looks ideal for coastal work but blue water?

I cant see why you could not sail her back in an appropriate weather window. Flat Chat was sailed to New Zealand and was a far less appropriate ocean boat than Pulse.

The Grainger Raider? Cripes... you would have to have actively sailed it every inch of the way, no slacking off there! Mind you there would have been some good rides along the way.

I've not sailed on her, but have sailed against her, and had an evening or 2 drinking on her. Pulse is an awesome looking boat, amazing amount of space for a 10m boat, sails well.
I'm not a fan of the whipstaff steering, but have never tried it, and of course there is the lack of boom...
Still, I'd love to own her one day.

I know Pulse well and have spent many hours aboard.
The TC 10 is an awesome design, lots of interior volume, awesome external space and a heap of very clever ideas. It sails very well but in my opinion would go considerably better with the addition of a boom, and possibly ditching the whipstaff steering system for another more conventional type of steering system.
