Honestly I was just taken by the proportion of this vessel. I saw the elevation plan on the broker site, and the underwater as says Mike Johns is for ice. Just plain beautiful. She is so gracious, hiding a fantastic power. Make her very unic in my eyes.

Masalai my built is sailing since last year. Very fun, and enjoyed every minutes. Now we are on the ice age in Maine, waiting for June, so I can put her back in the water.

Such a cool boat. I eagerly anticipate my trip north.

Now for something uglier , two livestock transporters.

[edit] but look closely the one on the right doesn't carry cattle or sheep.

If you look at the pic in the link I posted it looks like she was fitted with sail auxiliary propulsion.

Hi Mike - as I scrolled down to see your post, I thought it was another "passenger liner/cruise ship :D :p :D - - Then I realised :!:'same same":!: I am not interested on going on either form of sardine tin... Have you been anywhere downwind of one unloading "cattle", amonia pong is unbearable, and the humanoid 'sheeple' do not smell much better...

    Hi dskira,
Bloody magnificent, good to see you are enjoying 'messing about' in your boat... - I am enjoying mine but I need a volunteer crew to go the next step, Cairns N to Milne Bay, Papua New Guinea...

In the meantime I am helping Silver Raven and his lady to tidy their place in the rainforest near Kuranda. SR has incredible courage and great determination to survive the pimples near his lungs (as is what he refers to cancer that sent him totally blind, with a prognosis of being 'lucky to see out Christmas', and he is fighting to overcome)... Here we are well into the third month of 2013 and he is looking very fit and determined and rejoicing every day in that he proved them wrong and is proving that he is a survivor... It was planned that SR would come with me as crew, but that adventure has been postponed...

You're right, Daniel; it's a great-looking vessel. 'Jaunty' is the word that comes to mind when I look at her sheer, and at the visual balance between her bow and superstructure.

Nice to see another picture of your baby, too. I really enjoyed following along online while you built her. Which reminds me: how's your son?

I'm in the middle of building the shop where I'll build the hull of my own baby, the riverboat from Paul (PAR). I don't really need an enclosed shop just to work on it; I need the shop to make sure my tools and materials don't walk while I'm not looking. I'm regularly gone for a week or more at a time working, and I don't live in the best of neighborhoods.

    Hi Brian
Both the biggest as far as number aboard.

Real wealth, the coin of life is time not money. Give my best regards to the man behind Silver Raven. I'm sorry that it's come to this for him. I had a close friend die recently, 3 months from finding a lump to deceased. Not much time to get used to the idea and depression is the real enemy that robs most people of the last bit of time they have.

Okay, you got me with the "O of the S's". I thought you meant hoofed cattle, not the 2-legged kind. :p

    I prefer smaller conveyances.

A trailer park crossed with a shopping mall and casino. Put the holiday camp on a ship and you have a captive clientele. It's a good business model.

Just don't hit a rock or have an engine room fire. The "sheeple" get a little testy then.

    mreoe4sure who me

When I look at Maagen it reminded me of another boat. Question - Does anyone know if Richard (aka Apex I - no longer on the forum) ever built the boat that was somewhat designed on this forum?? It was to be about 65 ft long , single engined. It was talked about on the forum for several months, with looks, engine , layout, etc with pictures- what people liked and did not like on boats. He said that it would surely be be built and that anyone wanted one he would give a real deal to keep his yards busy. I don't want one , I just wanted to know if it ever got built, and if it did , how did it turn out? Steve

Does anyone know if Richard (aka Apex I - no longer on the forum) ever built the boat ...nup, lost contact unfortunately, he is a very knowlegable fella, I am sure it would have been a really nice boat.

I was building a 120 footer in China when he was on line, and we had a few discussions on things boat related, nice fella.

All that wood and nice rounded shapes - nice.
Is that a miniature goat or a dog in the picture?
