It's funny how a comment that oil revenues being used to fund terrorism need to be cut morphed into a discussion of the merits of certain cars. Each step on the way seemed entirely logical. Like international politics in a way.

In the meantime Egypt shows signs of sinking back into the same old mire we all hoped it had emerged from. Egypt hasn't become Iran by any means but it is clear that many of the people there are bitterly disappointed with the actions of their new government. It is difficult to get a handle on the condition of personal freedoms there, but the business climate seems desperate.

For those still following this thread, I just contacted Vulkyn and he is still safe and raising a family surrounded by adversity. Another small triumph for humanity . . .

Yep, that new president is there to lead them right into communism and decay.

For a start, everyone becomes the property of the state.

And have no rights, people are treated as objects, hence can be disposed of at will. Stalin's ? record of 40 million to enforce an ideology still stands if memory serves me right.

Sure they did. And a guy in the 1940's invented a carburetor that lets cars burn water instead of gasoline... if it weren't for the lawyers and hitmen hired by the oil companies, we'd be filling our gas tanks today with our garden hoses.

Here's a reality check, folks. If it becomes possible to profitably make gasoline out of natural gas, the oil companies will be all over it -- because every oil well in the country also produces natural gas. They won't need to stomp out the technology; they'll simply start using it themselves.

to understand what is going on in Egypt you need to look at the demographics.
    .
The Demographics in Egypt are really bad with an overwhelmingly young population facing unsolvable economic problems and no hope for the future .

It doesnt mater what type of government is in office.

The entire Arab world is like this.

So that makes a theocracy communism,? I don't think so.

There are many systems of government, and some of them are bad. Being bad doesn't make them 'communism,' unless you totally throw away the dictionary meaning of the word.
