    Good day all,
I started on someone elses thread and it got too big. Now I am starting my own thread for anyone who could help me, to give advice or even ( God willing ) a JOB.
A little background first! I am a 36 year old South African white male, married with 2 kids. I build 60ft luxury carbon cats. From plug, mould, laminating, assembly even to plumbing, A.C. and diesels.(almost run the factory of 30 staff). I am looking at leaving good old S.A. Problem is that I am not wealthy nor do I have any tertiary qualification. So, according to my research, my best option is to get someone to sponsor me with a job and after about 5yrs(depending on country) I can apply for citizenship.
Right, Now the real problems start!! Applying for positions via the web is futile as no one responds back to you, for you are not from there. So how do you find someone to sponsor you if they don't even look at you??
I can stay where I am now, but I want to get out of a country that is corrupt, full of crime and going to the dogs.:( Not for myself but the sake of my kids!) The outside world only hears of about 1% of the sh*t that happens here( and let me tell you, it is scarry.)
People do not get mugged, they get stabbed with rusty knives for a lousy R10. Not even enough money to buy bread with!

I can continue but am digressing off the topic.
Plainly said, I want to move out of my country for fear of my family's safety.
I am a reliable, honest, hard worker and learn new things very fast.
Who of my fellow yachties/boaties can help or advise me on what to do??

Regards to all who read this
    Leslie

Would love to help mate, but here there are few new jobs available currently. From what I have heard from mates, poor SA is a mess.

There are jobs in west Australia if you can weld alloy well, possibly here too.

Thanks Friend! Can't weld Alloy, never tried it. Only done some arc years ago.
I don't need to get out NOW, I can wait a while. If you do happen upon someone who is willing to give a chap a chance, send them my way.
    One of my previous projects.:)

The best place is if you are going to travel and look for work is Perth, Australia that has a shortage of a work force all round.
Plenty of jobs and skills to be taught are available such as if you can get a truck driver’s license and after this are courses to learn to drive for the mines or to start or at least a bus driver that pays OK and a shortage...
I worked in Perth recently welding aluminum patrol crafts destined for Africa and then went to courses to obtain working at heights, confined space, EWP, senor first aid, and a white induction card for constriction work as well passed several ASME 9 6 G pipe welding tickets alongside 4g flux core..
After this I walked onto a Chinese’s mine construction near Karratha paying $3500 usd each week after tax plus upmarket accommodation and food provided including fly in fly out airfares.
I worked with many South Africans mostly from New Zealand who I have worked with also on LNG gas projects...
There are many large boat building companies in Perth so you will find there is a chance they may employ.
Even a simple job is good pay in Perth s and double to what the pay is in New Zealand.
