The nation is beginning to enact some measures in light of the recent tragedy:

"This legislation will protect New Yorkers by reducing the availability
of assault weapons and deterring the criminal use of firearms while
promoting a fair, consistent and efficient method of ensuring that
sportsmen and other legal gun owners have full enjoyment of the guns
to which they are entitled. A thoughtful network of laws provides the
toughest, most comprehensive and balanced answer in the nation to gun
    violence."

International registered vessels do not comply with man in the street stuff. Let alone in International waters.

I could have walked into a dealers in Aberdeen Hong Kong shopping centre and bought an Uzi. ( AS long as I had a port clearance certificate)

No yachty has guns get it, nod wink wink.

I am quoting the precis from the first action on gun control in this country which is coming to vote as the nation begins to respond to the recent shootings.
This action is being taken in NY but more measures will follow including the Obama/Biden statement of intent which will come tomorrow.

Why- I live here and it effects how I approach arms on the boat.

    I support the bill BTW

Does it effect duck hunters ? I thought the new laws were for machine guns.

Am I not supposed to be duck hunting with my machine gun?

You might also be able to use a machine gun as a bow thruster when maneuvering in the marina. Bit noisy

Why do you need a machine gun in NY? Is USA that hardcore?
I'm just a country boy from South Africa but even we only need machine guns when going up into pirate waters..... ;)

Handy to have a gun on board for Wednesday night races. Solve protests directly on the course, get to the bar early.

Might be worthwhile to have a machinegun on board to sink any boat drifting down on you in the anchorage.

    Seems logical to me..

Machine guns and weapons are not the reason. Social condition is.

Oh come on, cars are the number one killer, so we should ban them or at least restrict their sale...

With an Uzi,,I'd be more likely to sink myself than the race competition.....
