    Corley epoxy coated

I was just making an observation really as the OP's original question was about trimarans with ama accomodation even though we have been a bit sidetracked by other issues. I agree I'd not put anything heavy in floats and they are handy for light but bulky items like fenders, sails etc. A basic float berth for use at anchor would not add much weight though.

If the amas are designed like a Horstman then you can put all useful pay load in the amas as long as they are balanced. Rick

Agree, however could it be you are assumming that most charter clients are non sailing experienced or with little sailing experience and they are not motivated by the sales broucher appearance of the vessel they wish to charter.

Like would you hire a 1948 dodge or a 2012 Nisian Sports or Station waggon.

Plus could you be assumming that experienced sailors from the other side of the world would not charter a performance with speed vessel rather than sail their own vessel around the world to the place that offers a performance / speed / comfort charter vessel.

There are trimarans that would fit the bill

Take the ac 72 for example and the comments that are being generated by sheer speed.

If you don't have speed you have a slow floating tank.

Some might say if you are in a hurry catch a jet.

Some might also say if you want comfort / space / and a bar book a hotel.

prices of Horstman trimaran building but no answer about
the figures, I do not know why, maybe is simply too much :confused:

    Yes,
I'm sorry to be like this and to ask such questions.
I guess normally people start from a budget and look for that
    sum what is affordable,
I was going the other way round, to figure out how would be the
purchasing/building cost of a vessel that matches our specific requirements.
Sorry for taking time and effort without having an idea of how much I
am available to invest for this project.
    ciao

Oh .... that read to me like you do not have more than $50,000 of a $1,400,000 purchase price ....

Do tell me your pocket book is much closer to your dream than you just implied?

This is the 65' charter tri in the BVIs that I mentioned earlier. It has accomodations in the amas. It was for sale but i don't see that link anymore. The rates are there too.
