Ya- that's what I mean captain- as designs evolve we will look back all teary eyed at the nice traditional Jobs job...

 

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

 

I don't know that it's the worst aesthetic offender.

I think the Wally and Palladin design concepts are interesting although the Wally is hardly feasible.
Perhaps on a lake as a houseboat but can you image trying to drive it in a heavy following sea...scary

The Opalinski Design style doesn't do it for me, the hull has some great built in stress points and the wrinkles are remenisant of the mating Armidillos.

Ah gee, I was just going to suggest Lake Como as a suitable venue - floating resturant & night cruising.
I'm sure it would fit right in with the PS/SJ pedigree

 

That could work.

 

I could not help noticing in the photo that the bow is protected by the "zee kameel 1". Although I cannot argue that the risk of breaking the glass bow before final delivery is something worth avoiding. I believe it is probably also indicative of how careful the owner will have to be with it as well.

So this leaves two options:
1) risk having an over enthusiastic boat owner ram his boat into the bow every time you manoeuvre in port. (assuming its own captain does not make a similar mistake)
2) Have a butt ugly bow protecter....

 

In the Netherlands the water is shallow. Normally, with deep sailing yachts , when Ive docked into a CAMEL it lifts you up, bow and stern, reducing draft then a tug pulls you out the harbour into the Ijsselmeer, to Kornwerderzand and deep water.

Not sure what yard built that "thing"

Oh, De Vries shipyard in Aalsmeer , http://www.kdvs.nl/ part of the Feadship group. Dont know what route a yacht takes from Aalsmeer. It is very far inland.

It is quite certain that Jobs would not have accepted any protecters.

 

I'm not sure the bow protector isn't my favorite part of the boat.

if he had class he would have built something like this

 

BTW i showed the 2 pics to all the ladies in my family and they all think Steve's boat is ugly. They all really liked the "fantail" boat.

So it's simple, if you have lots of money and want to attract beautifull women build a beautiful boat.
