All you people in the west need to re read the quote above at least 3 times.

    It is 100% accurate.

I could not find an internet cafe or any public internet in UK. When I asked at the hotel I was staying she said --Oh we don't cater for business executives.

They are at very least 200yds apart in Thailand and every hotel and shopping center has wifi.

Im told though its not as good as Vietnam.

My "hole" I live in-you'd be lucky to set foot in it. I've been more places in the world than you.

BTW I have imported tons of stuff, and got the best I could and it was still crap.
That wonderful stuff for sale in China..built in Japan I guess.

    I've been there...I won't be visiting again. Too hot,too much pollution,too many people,etc etc.

And you think living under Communist control is better?

    Don't bother replying..

Ah......Grand Banks, Nordhavn, De Fever, Marlow, Selene, Kadey-Krogen, Jefferson, Fleming.......All built in China (AFAIK), all available in the US and Australia. All seen by the marketplace as good to high quality products....none of them really boast about where they are built in their sales info....

my friends in America told this crisis maybe is a good chance for Australian boats selling to USA, they said now more than half of American boat companies bankrupted, the bosses never invest more money on new design, new molds. If we have better design, better prices, better quality then we can get to US market. American made boats quality not very good, rough.
    Is that right ?

I don't like the Communist too, as far as I know the Chinese are very poor, under developed and much people even haven't adequate food. But many my friends told me much success stories in China and get to millionaire which makes me envy. :p

As far as I know Grand banks is Singapore. Choey lee is Hongkong.

Communism is a method of government it has no influence in the street.

Capitalism can also generate extreme poverty then they give state assistance which is communism.

Yes...but we all know no one would buy any of them if they had zero Western oversight/management/design/manufacturing standards.

    Like Mc donalds you mean?

Taiwanese boats are pretty good depending on the family that fit them out.

The mould would be made and a family buisness would fit them. It became obvious which family fit them out. Screws were hammered almost home and turned the last 2 turns. It saved a lot of time in years before battery power tools.

Riviera has gone down the tube too here is them whinging why they cant do it.

Australian labour costs are with the current exchange rates far too high to be exporting boats successfully.

When America sneezes, the world catches a cold. That may be why Seawind failed, hoping for a [dwindling] American market.

Well sorta.......After a great deal of searching I found that as of 4 years ago (1998) American Marine (Grand Banks) still has a small yard in Singapore at Loyang. Their main yard is at Pasir Gudang, Malaysia. The old yard at Jurong is closed.

But they do not actually tell you this anywhere on their website, even though there are pictures of the yard and workers, no context.

And who knows what is happening today. I'm pretty sure I read somewhere that Eastbay's were being built (probably under contract) in China.....could well be missinformation.

Earlier you wrote "If I saw a Chinese made boat there's slim and no much chance of me buying it." Which surprised me. No mention of who did the oversight.

And I think you might be surprised by how little western oversight is actually left in these companies. 30 years ago it had to be a lot, now the design is in house, and the rest is done by locals.

Quite a bit of a difference between some no-name small Chinese runabout with a cloned Toyota diesel or cloned Evinrude outboard and a brand name yacht.
    But you know that.

Show me a recent startup co.-Chinese designed Chinese built Chinese everything yacht that is even half the quality of anything western owned/managed/started..
Haven't read any rave reviews about the Qong Ching 25 meter super yacht thats putting the world to shame and costs 1/4...
