I would really like to build one. Is there a source for plans?
I'm looking for the stepped version, not the full flat bottom.
I have a thai friend who races them in Bangkok, he said there are no plans since the people making them can barely read. I'd ask him for plans but he can only offer length width.. he doesnt speak english very well.

First post, hopefully my next will be in the boat building section :D

Yeah well welcome but ALL Thais read. Its law to go to school.

Ive never heard of longtail races but that does not mean it does'nt exist.

The klongs are busy places. Maybe he did not say race but 'bling' competition.

Every one of those boats is different. The ingenious methods used to get round problems is a joy to see and often breath takingly simple and obvious. No they don't follow plans --there may some that a westerner knocked up.

Amazing what a man will make without money.

A PFD would never help you look after yourself.

Frosty, you and Waikikin sound like those guys who end up dead from drowning.

Every body ends up dead from drowning Mr Tom.

Thing is if you think your not very good with water remove yourself from the water not the water from everybody else.
