Yep. But I speak metric too. I just like gallons pounds and yards better than liters(litres) kilograms and meters. :)

My dog was dying inch by inch,
And I was taking it hard.
So I took him back to the alley,
So he could die by the yard. :(

My poodle was dying cm by cm,
And that proved too difficult for me,
So I took him out to to the garden,
So he could die where the gas meter be.

Thanks for clearing up the differance in a Imerial gallon and US gallon. My designer said I can put a 20gl fuel tank in my build, I will now build it to Imperial standards and be able to put more US gallons in it. Thanks Tunnels. Rick

    been there done that !!

i did the change from pounds and pence to dollars and cents in 1964 ,did the measuring thing in 1984 and that took a while because i worked with some old builders and used to a mixture of measurements 2 foot 35 mm or 1 metre 2 1/2 inchs . ended up throwing all the feet and inchs tapes in a big box and hiding it every one was issued with metric tapes and rules and what ever else and all the old went in one swoop . A week and it was like it never happened just got on with it most confusing is when people talk centremeters thats confusing ! 30 cm = 300mm = one foot but then some idiot gives you 27.3 cm and that gets confusing !!
funny after all this time still cant do the change when talking about boats they are always refered to in feet !! guess some things never change . easyest thing is just throw the old away and do metric thing !! we had and i still have my old 3 foot builders folding rule and a bulders square all in feet and inchs .
gallons and litres was easy . one morning it was gallons next morning the petrol pumps were litres so that was easy . speed was harder till all the new cars had kilometres per hour and then a spat of slow drivers specially the older people . but time heals all wounds !! The building industry went through a hard time as they changed to metric 2400 x 1200 the old 8x4 but was short two sides so with pressure they changered to 2440 x 1220 back to the old 8x4 !!, theres still some confussion even to this very day . have to always check specially when theres imported sheets of what ever and local made theres always the ooops factor to consider and take into account when making framing of any sort .

We use metric in some buildings such as Goverment buildings, just feels Unamerican and forced on us thats why we resist it so much. We also dont want to learn another way:). As a people we are happy with what we have and cant understand why people from other countries want us to change.I will admit metric may have some advantages. Anyway here in the good old US of A, a gallon is a gallon, and a gallon of epoxy is about 9 pounds,( thats American pounds):). Rick

We are a bit stone aged Frosty ,and I do have some guns in metric, a 9mmx21mm,( I think I wrote that right) a French Mas 49/56 ,( seldom used) and a few more in metric. Most are not metric, 357 cal., 44 cal., 223 cal., 12 ga, ect, and I don,t think there is a 38 mag.( A 357 mag will hold a 38 cal, 38+p, 38+p+, so not to worry) . It takes time to heal, when we got rid of the King we kept what we had too and changed a few things to suit our needs, we needed something that was American. We are a young nation and we hold on to things from our troubled childhood, ( like our guns):). It,s just a thing and all we need is some time and understanding. A few hunderd more years and we will act more mature, but for now at least let us keep something thats American,( like an American gallon) :). Rick
