Slowly acumulating pension funds for fuel... Herewith some images. . . . . . . . . . I still need to fill many drums with a bit more than 700 litres (have about 450 litres already) of diesel fuel, - - and 25 litres of sans-plomb more to get...
1 - Depth transducer inserted in bum (of boat) from the inside - hope it works :D
2 - another bus-bar ready to "manage" the inputs from the solar panels theoretical capacity 56A at 24 volts 'nominal' from the PV panels, to the regulator, and so to the battery bank...
3 - Well the depth sounder is doing something ? but what ? as it is still on the hard ? ? ?
4 - The top of the coach-house looking aft over the 8 PV panels and the forward midships hold hatches where batteries, 12 fuel drums in stbd and 13 x fuel drums, (totalling 500 litres), - and 200 Litres water in port...
5 - Rubber-duckie lazing in the "sun" on the stbd trampoline (out of the way), until relaunch of CNO. . . .

Gooday 'Masa' & CNO - great pics. Do be careful not to buy the diesel - to far out in front of you leaving - it has a bad habit of - growing a fungus - & mucking up all the filters & injectors - but I'm sure you know all about that.

Thanks for keeping us - in the loop. Sure hope all's well down there. Ciao, james.

    Hi Mas
Are you sure your depth transducer will operate through the core ?
I know they will if on solid glass but balsa core may be a challenge.
ps how come you didn.t install it on the very bottom ? \

    Hi Dialdan,
Balsa core has been removed and refilled with appropriate material... At the bottom is an additional 2 layers of grp encased marine ply adding some 2 cm to the 19mm balsa-cored-DuFlex... I think I have a good compromise... A friend who is well qualified did the epoxy work as I cannot go near that stuff whilst being mixed... First job following re-launch will be to recalibrate so I know how much water I need to remain afloat. - - I will also measure the distance from transducer to bottom of 'mini-keel' - :D :D

    Hi Mas
It should be ok then, from your pic it looked to me as though it was siliconed to the hull.

As I am not allergic to anything I find it almost amusing that one could go into wrigglng fit like attacks on the floor by being near some one mixing epoxy.

    Surely its psychological.

I dislike cats -- the dirty bastads walk under my legs on purpose, they stress me and I am always aware of their location.

A weaker person,-- I could imagine loosing control and shouting shoo shoo or something equally as shocking to them.

Sometimes I wish I had a gun, something like a 44mm would be a good size for a cats head,--no need for dental identification.

My biggest regret is that I saved one once from the sea in the Marina --what came over me I dont know but I bent over and hauled it out. I wished I had left it.

    Hi frosty,
    You are a one !
    - - of what I am not sure... - - "one-of-a-kind"? :D :D

On epoxy sensitivity, - - for the umpteenth time, - - my sensitivity, - I feel, - is to the hardener when it is being mixed into the epoxy... I feel no pain, or any other "symptoms", or visual reaction... - - - - I am told that my pancreas shuts down - so a painless death... Which I do not desire, (DEATH that is...)

    - Again the sky does not fall, - just my life fails... - - - A good analogy will be seen in the collapse and demise of the US$ soon enough... - - and I do not intend to follow that bit of green rag for at least 20 years from when its value is less than toilet paper... The US$ is now reputed to have an equivalent purchasing power of 4cents (compared with the value before the gold standard was removed by Nixon in 1971)...

Cats (genus Felis catus or Felis silvestris catus, previously Felis domesticus) are detestable creatures that should be exterminated on sight... Bread faster than rabbits or germs and serve little useful purpose... - there are not enough recipes to use cat-meat - except the Chinese may like to reconsider their penchant for tiger parts as they do not breed fast enough, - - so why use their ***** and associated bits as an aphrodisiac?

Mas regarding you point that cats have no real purpose. Ive been giving this some thought and the only reason I can think of to keep a cat alive would be to use it to test turbne engines as they do with a chicken .

Run the engine up to required specs RR or GEC and offer the cat up to the engine intake by its tail ( having a tail is one obvious improvement over a chicken). Releasing the cat will of course result in it being sucked through the engine testing the equipment to specifications making future flight safer.

This does not hurt at all unless the cat scratches you on its way in.

I have no other uses. The one on the dock here can not catch rats but only eats prawns, expects to be stroked and sleeps. Its normal for their owners to be equally as useles im my experience .

Assuming parity AUS and US$, $87 out the door price looks reasonable.

Good grief! 3 for $87? They are $87 each here. :(

I hate it when that happens:[IMG]

I paid less than that... and not from a 'Woolies' subsidiary, which is what the "electronic dick" now is... (or is it Coles?)

    Hi Sabah,
Did you buy 3 ? ? ? as $23.98 seems reasonable, - - (You need to secure better 5 finger discounts for cash), - - and what is this $15 charge for inter-shop transfer WTF ? ? ? and where is the 10%GST component... No wonder the electronic ***** is suffering financial difficulties...

I am not allowed to give rep for uses for cats :( but, since the topic is of aircraft, and airports are securely fenced, and feathered birds are a menace to aircraft taking off or landing, They could be housed inside the perimeter fences to keep flocks of birds away from airports until needed for testing... - - - So That Makes 2 uses for cats...

So you're in favour of either sending killer whales to 'consciousness raising' school or exterminating them, then?
