That part does but surely you will have primary (500l +- x 2) tanks onboard to tip that fuel into

That takes me to a page with hundreds of links
Do you have the "actual" page please?

Ms ive told you before. When I was nearly going to take mine to Singapore it is possible to get duty free fuel once you have a port clearance and checked out.

You will at least have to look like you are leaving and get yourself up to Darwin.

They would not let me do it from Sydney unless I checked out for New Zealand.

Large amounts of fuel need carefull consideration when buying not only on price but quality / water etc. once youve bought it its yours.

Cleaning 2 ton of fuel would be as much as buying it.

    Correct

Personally, I was planning on feeding the first 20 or so litres through a Mr Funnel or similar justy to make sure its relatively clean.

I have the main tankage set up so each morning I can pump the days fuel up and through a pair of FG500's and into an alloy day tank on the bridgedeck panel.
This then gravity feeds clean fuel back to the engines.

The same system can also circulate and clean fuel in the primary tank as well.

'Money pinis' - as one may say in PNG, so the slow accumulation of meagre pension funds must continue with caution...

I have some images that I may post later on the "Random Picture thread" taken around 'Monteys marina'

Image below is the engine oil filter remover that was made to remove the recalcitrant filter - but it seems to be tightened VERY TIGHT and will not budge so it looks like the messy application of a "phillips head screwdriver as a lever", and if that fails then 'tapping' with a cold chisel - - - and if that fails removing the engines   - - Next is my propeller resplendent in "prop-speed" and the rudder with a bit of grease and scratched "paint", - - and thirdly a friends electric boat powered by a torqeedo 4000R...

The fuel rebate and other forms of assistance include 100% of the excise or customs duty on eligible biodiesel and renewable diesel only. A production grant of 38.143 cents per litre, equal to the excise duty rate, is currently available to domestic producers... http://www.ato.gov.au/businesses/content.aspx?menuid=9955&doc=/content/00128216.htm&page=3&H3 depending on application and use... - I am slowly reading through the maze or bureaucratic jargon and obfuscation -

Is, - - not being readily able to understand complex documents requiring short term memory retention, a sign of my oncoming dementia / alzheimers debilitation? Oh the ageing processes are a s41t sometimes, but can be fun chatting up birds others would not even dare to try :D :D :D (ask a ****** for a free sample to see if it still works? - then wander off chuckeling or laughing like a school-boy) Oh what fun - imagining that it may have been a copper trying to entrap someone for "soliciting" - and I thought only Lawyers did that.........

Try putting the strap as close to the thread end as you can get. That won't crush like the middle.

    Hi IMP-ish,
No access as there are obstructions like alternator and other stuff on the side of the engine... My engine bay is sooooo small that the rear of the engine is less than half an inch clear of the bulkhead... Marinised Kubota engines are excellent as all the stuff one needs to access are at the back, so normally access would be EXCELLENT.... - - Go into the hull, lift the soundproofing panels and it is all there for a quick and easy service...

My build was supposed to run Torqeedo electric outboards then because of encountered problems - a pair of diesel outboards - the only ones were high revving (4000rpm+) and totally unsuited for economical running in a sail boat, leaving only option of sail-drives :D :D  and my build and attendance to sort out problems in a timely manner was neatly interrupted by hospital time with epoxy poisoning and broken bum bone... So I have got what I have got and find workarounds... - - - - I do not know why the oil filters were tightened down so hard ? ? ? ? The image shows how the device works wrapped for show around the replacement filter... To destroy the filter to be removed is no issue except some oil will spill about the clean engine bay...

Mas go buy a proper filter removal tool. Wet the new ones rubber seal and only tight a little bit,--its only holding 40psi.

Ps I can put a chain in front of both my engines and sit on it.

I have the remote oil filter brackets on my engines now and it's worth the $150. Much easier when you can't get in there with your arm to get a filter wrench in. In my second boat I had to do it a quarter inch at a time all by feel. That was a pain.

    Hi frosty,
I HAD & NEITHER would fit in the space and I gave them both away... Like the wooden horse, wooden fit...

    Hi IMP-ish,
I would love to but I am allergic to epoxy and gluing in place is the ONLY option after I mount the bracket onto a piece of plywood or what-have-you... - I priced one to fit the Kubota and the $$$ is about double what you paid... - - - - - - and MONEY is in VERY SHORT SUPPLY...

I guess I will be forced to sit quietly and save for a while...

Boat for sale, or trade for just 40 bars of 5 troy ounces each of 9999 pure gold bars...

They dont make remote filters for all engines --like mine for example. Mas geeezuz make the things up and pipe it all in them find an Abo who wants a quick epoxy job for a bottle 0f grog.

Gooday masa - wooden it be just as good to get a non-branded one. Surely if'n you go to your local 'truck-shop' they'll have a non 'Kubota' filter - - filters is filters is filters - as long as it fits & is the same 'micron' filter - it'll do. My 1956 Masey-Ferguson has used non-branded filters for over 1200 hrs & it's still in great working order & at 1/4 the price & from every tractor supplier. Ciao, james

In 1956 fiters were filters were filters hell Im surprised the olde chugger even had one.

Today --no I have dual stage filters on mine and even though I can get cheapies its definately not the right internals and the price reflects that. It fits and thats the only similarity.

However a Kobota is not a Detomaso and therefore in these circumstances Sliver Raven is correct

    Hi James, & frosty,
Thanks for your thoughts and input.

The New filter is not the issue it is REMOVING THE OLD & USED FILTER from the engine - some 'richard-cranium' in the Nanni production line/system tightened it with a torque wrench or something - farkedifiknow - Just too bloody tight and there is not much space where it is and I cannot apply the excessive torque to undooooo the bloody thing.....

I have no difficulty in getting NEW replacement filters and if and when the budget allows, may well consider placing the oil-filter-mounting-bracket on a bulkhead of the boat (mounted off the engine block)... - - My fuel filter is already mounted on a bulkhead and OVERSIZE with a water trap glass bowl at the bottom...

Its not so much tight as stuck on the rubber seal.

You can hit a screw driver straight through it, yes oil spillage but-- what else can you do.

There are many kinds of filter removal tools.

and then they can be so tight the thin metal cover just tears.
