I interpret it as Carib pirates are much lighter-skinned than Somali pirates, thus the "disappearance" of thier skulls on the black-background flag.

    It's a racially-motivated.....ummm....."joke".

It may be funny in certain racial circles, but I suggest it's not quite appropriate for a public forum.

I'm not sure I understand your concern. Was there any implication one skin shade was superior or inferior to the other?

Yes of course if you try hard enough you could, and your a control freek and insist on telling people what they can or cant talk about on a world wide global forum.

OMG, you're Haddock in disguise . .

About the pirates, the one from the Caribbean we don't know the skin color of as we only see a bare skull, so it's a long time dead pirate head. The Somali one must be a fresh black pirate head with the skin still on (just as we see them alive in the news all the time, the news has never shown a white pirate from Somalia, which make me guess there aren't any in that color there, or maybe they're a minority? ;)). If the skin already was gone we would have seen a white skull like the Caribbean one. So eventually some time after death all men are equal, even the only difference, the skin color, disappears, guess that's what Wynand is telling us . . . . :p

    Cheers,
    Angel
