    Hi,

I am currently working on a project to design a high speed vehicle and was thinking of incorporating the capsule design for the driver/cockpit. Can anyone recommend any books/texts/journals that is relevant to designing a safety capsule? Any help or recommendation is appreciated.

    Cheers,
    Michael

What type of vehicle and how fast is the target speed? Is it a watercraft? It really depends on vehicle and intended use. I personally would stay away from ejection type, catipolting a driver at speed can be extremly violent with secondary impacts unpredictable and sometime worse than the initial crash. The unlimited hydro's have a great type 4 capsule for a 6000lb craft.
Again do your research on type of craft and design accordingly.
Specs for most circuit boat types are available from APBA and UIM.

Here is a photo of my APBA type 3, This is a monocoupe design tub/capsule made from carbon fiber/kevlar and will be used for a new outrigger hydro
