I love boats --have done all my life but like a man once said to me --'I like to smoke a pipe but I take it out of my mouth sometimes"

I always thought that very wise that even though we may love something very much-- you need a change at times.

I knew a guy once that lived on a mooring on his boat , he was very confused, I asked him why he a said " when I get off my boat I want to get back on it, and when I get on it I want to get off it again.

Im going back to my boat next week , Ive been off her for 7 weeks , kinda missing it a bit but then I love to tinker with my bikes for a while too. I like the girl friend also, but I like to go out with the boys too. It makes my time with the girlfriend stronger.

'Variety is the spice of life' quote -Liberace.

Lets talk about boats, loads of them , big ones small ones how to fix em up and even sink them.

Yeah boats and boats, until we are sick of them.

If you do ever find yourself "sick of" boats, you can always click on www.google.com and find thousands of sites on any topic in the world. If google is blocked where you are, you could use bing or yahoo, etc. and I'm sure you can find sites focused on any and every topic you can think of that sparks you, whether it is pipe smoking or heated arguing over politics or religion.

Moi? I think you have me confused with someone else . I know less than little on politics and rarely if ever comment on it, infact it was I that tried desperately to get the pirate thread back on Pirates.

I can safely say that I never opened even one of the endless stream of links posted.

Besides as a global forum,-- American politics is inappropriate.

Everyone gets sick of boats, I would not believe any one who claims they do not

I love boats. I will start my build in May.
Politics I am sick of but have to live with the results of them so must speak out against tyranny whenever I can.
I will record my progress on this forum beginning with when the pieces are cut.

Yes. The more you learn about politics, the clearer it becomes that you cannot really own anything that you can't move. It makes both a gypsy caravan and a boat look a lot more attractive ;)

    Looking forward to the details.

Like Sam Devlin said in his book - "You really have to hate a boat to finish it !"

I was reading a newsletter from the local marine authority I got in the mail the other day - 1 out of ten people use their boat more than 100 days a year, 6 out of ten use their boat less than 30 days a year.

My bet is that the "high user" people are new to boating, and revert to low use pretty quickly.

My boat proudly displays blood , sweat and tears, you cant see them but I can.

Its the tears that I can see very clearly, The blood is not so bad and the sweat --well all boats have sweat marks on them.

When I spend too much time on girlfriends or hobbies my boats become stinking and dirty. Boats never leave you or tell you Your just friends. Honestly over the years my best days have been alone working on boats, blood, sweet, epoxy and not so much tears.
