what is my boat? (glass magic)

i bought a boat recently and i dont know what year or model it is. it has glass magic emblems, but i cant find it online. if someone could help me figure out the year and model that would be great. it has fins on both sides on the rim and two bench seats. the motor is also an evinrude bigtwin.

The styling clues suggest it's late 1950's. It's a typical warped bottom of the era and will pound pretty good if driven too hard. Should be economical to operate, given reasonable speeds with modest HP, so a good lake, protected bay and river boat, in relatively smooth water.

Glass Magic is fairly well documented and that could be one of their models. I'm reasonably sure it's a 1958 "Skipper" model. The 1958 Skipper was ~ 14' 3" long, with a 5' 2" beam and a 56" wide transom, which showed slight tumblehome. It also had the truncated fins on the aft side decks and was rated for 40 HP.

thank you im glad i ound it. one more quick question. do you know what it is worth fully restored? or a round about estimate? i cant sell it because im in love with it, but just for curiosities sake

 

The value of this boat would greatly depend on how it was equipped and how it was "presented". Simply put, it doesn't have an intrinsic value as a '58 Skipper by Glass Magic, but if well equipped, new engine, controls, steering, electronics, redone or replaced chrome, etc. you could get a fair price, assuming a reasonable buyer. Most small craft are essentially a free hull, with the purchase of engine, trailer and electronics. A 10k engine, trailer and electronics package, that get's a 12k sale means you got 20% for the boat . . .

Like anything its only worth what someone is prepaired to pay . If you make a firstclass job then the "I want it" value goes up !!so its really up to you !!
Remember theres a big differance between restore and repair !!
