You can change the dictionary on-line, but be careful not to inadvertently change the keyboard settings. If the keyboard lacks the 'pound' symbol it is likely a USA layout which miss-spells anyway :p :p :D .....

Ha,-- my keys even have Thai symbols on them.

The American dictionary does not even carry Tennerief,-- an island in the East Atlantic off Africa .. I suppose geography never was a ******* thing. Bomb it but not sure where it is!!

( if your a septic this is not for you --dont read it or even think of commenting on it Im talking about you not to you)

Neither does the British version of the Oxford dictionary.

You may notice "UK" in the URL.

    Curious fact,that.

    http://oxforddictionaries.com/spellcheck/?region=uk&q=Tennerief,

    But it,and other dictionaries,carry Tenerife.

I am led to believe that many place names are not in most regional / language specific dictionaries period.

I think im being told that the dictionary did not recognise it because it was spelt incorrectly. Now that makes one ask what is the dictionary for if I need to spell it correctly in the first place.

If I could spell it correctly,--- ( you know what coming don't you) I would not need the damned thing in the first place.

I do not know what to say - - except - I use the spelling and grammar checking facilities to add those little squiggly red lines under text that the keyboard miss-spelt. :d

    - - A good education and appreciation of excellence in communication is well within the capacity of the average human brain. - - It is like a good tradesman being proud of the quality and excellence of the work they produce. - - Just look at the build quality in Manie's new boat and how impeccably clean is his workshop.

I think 'proper nouns' are not usually covered in dictionaries (names of places people and such), but may be found in 'Gazetteers' - for place-names, and 'Fcuknows' for people and other stuff?

Mass,-- Nouns N stuff is confusing . I must have had a day off school when the teacher did that bit.

Thats very clever Hoyt For an American im very impressed.:D Most American kids today cant spell the name of the teacher they are having sex with ( jay Lenno).

Funny you should bring that up Hoyt do you remember jay lenno show,!! Oh Geez he would ask students on Campus simple questions,--it was so funny.

Who was Head of Germany during the war, --"what war"? the last war,--Oh errr Winston Curchill?

On that particular show was Sir David Frost,--he was visably shocked at the American students ignorance. Did you see it?

I might be able to think up some more of Jays questions if your interested in American education Hoyt

Too much for me still. I hope you decide to keep it anyway. Would be a shame not to put some miles on it after all the work building CNO.
Problem with boats is they depreciate every year they sit. Use it or lose it.

http://www.anz.com/aus/RateFee/fxrates/fxpopup.asp the AU$ is a "free-floating currency" and is significantly influenced and manipulated by the "carry trade" in overnight deposits yeilding 4+% pa rate and boosted by their exchange rate manipulation using HFT amongst the internal arrangements of the major BANKSTERS

Guess which ones from the attached image? (hint - the top 6).

CNO has done quite a few miles - Brisbane to South Percy Island and back and another is in planning, but on a meagre pensioner income (reduced by "deemed wealth") this takes some time to save up for the fuel (I burn 6 litres/hour at 10 knots or half that at 6 knots).

Another image of planning for possible future trips (that may or may-not eventuate) - just preliminary stuff to consider as opportunity arises.

Mas I dont want to get personal here - but are you also spending most of your time out on the boat "solo"
If so, dont worry, my wife has no interest in the boat (big or small) either.

only thing is I love being out there alone - it's heaven!

True words Manie, but there are a couple of legs, (Cairns to Samarai is my present concern), where shipping used to be fairly busy and a good lookout is demanded - You do not necessarily hear them coming and they sneak up surprisingly quickly at 20+knots...

Up to the Percy Islands I happily day-tripped, and beyond to Cairns appears to be similarly easy to break into 50 mile runs with quite a bit of flexibility.

I would love a mast and sails but $$$$$$$$ seem to be in short supply now...

'The time has come', the Walrus said, 'to think of other things of ships.........' and Anonymous@Anonymous.net is in on the act, not so much as hacking but spreading the word "Dear Anonymous, - - The purpose of this message is to inform you about the Revolution: - - OCCUPY HOUSES OF PARLIAMENT IN LONDON ON NOVEMBER 5, 2012. - - OCCUPY CONGRESS IN WASHINGTON D.C. ON NOVEMBER 11, 2012. - - STOP WAR. - - CANCEL ALL DEBT. - - REDISTRIBUTE WEALTH." - there is more but this should give you the idea? - prepare your boats. and this link from Canada www.globalresearch.ca/index.php?context=va&aid=30079 - Oh well anti conspiratorial people should have a ball reading and refuting this lot, but I sort of look forward to the "forgiveness of debt" :D :D and a bit of 'entertainment' watching the demise of the fraudulent banksters and associated thieves. - - - - One is allowed to dream and indulge in a bit of wishful hope for the restoration of ethical, moral, fair, sustainable, living society, is one not allowed hope? . . . (In the quote from anonymous I removed the para and inserted spaced double hyphens)...

The interesting thing is that 5 November is known as Guy Fox day when there was an, (failed), attempt to blow up the houses of parliament in London with black powder (gunpowder in the days of sailing ships... and 11 November - I know not of any other significance relating to USA unless it was the "Boston Tea Party"? - - That Canadian link purports to identify chapter and verse of the legal constraints on the good citizens of USA...

A phone call to Monties Marina reveals that there is no space until May 2012. - - So the waiting continues, - - - - - to be able to remove some heavy items and do some work on the aft berths (about 2 half days), and the boat may as well stay on the hard when I find some space. - - I do not need any power as I have adequate in PV panels.

So today I repaired the mower (change the blades and refuel :p ) mowed a couple of handkerchief patches of lawn, cleaned some stuff with the 'gurney' (actually a cheap K'ARCHER one from Bunnings) and cut some cardboard with the jet too, watered the fruit trees and roses, harvested the eggs and 'fed the chooks' and washed the car (not with the gurney). forecast is rainless until Monday 9 April. when a front wanders up from the cold south. (rather strange for traditional end of summer weather)

Twiddling thumbs also applies to the ongoing fraudulent manipulation of the markets. - 'such is life without a wife and even more so with one'... :D
