So now you have stepped away from your original false claim of
and have agreed with me instead that it can be cheaper to build boats in other countries, which is what I have said all along .

    Thanks

I have had this said to me with everything from Anchor windlass to Radar.
if there is a problem, speak to who I bought it from, the Australian reps are not interested.

They have plenty of skilled craftsman and engineers in Croatia. The quality of the boat wont be a problem.

200k for a finished product will be a problem. You just cant get much boat for 200k.

Why do u think 200k eur will not be enough ...hull and superstructure with aluminum will be less than 50k ,so u think the boat cannot be equipt and finish for another 150k ..

If you had a real experience, you wouldn't be making such statements. Try it and tell us after how much have you lost.

Some of the guys here are professional boat builders. Ad Hoc is a NA and specialist of very peculiar boats in aluminium, SWATHS and some other weird things. He knows the cost.
Myself I've built for the French Navy as NE and owned a small shipyard (and I've earnt good money making "fast" fishing boats), plus some other guys with plenty of expertise.
All we have a long experience and a good idea of the cost of boatbuilding (sometimes we learnt in the hard way...)
Boatbuilding is a rather complex procedure, not just welding a bunch of plates and throwing an engine in the hull. You'll discover by yourself when things will go expensively wrong.

As the Chinese say; old wiseness is of no use for young fools. So I say it again: try it and make a thread telling us how much you have lost. It will be very illustrative.

I HAVE SOME EXPIRIENCE.ive already said that everything will be documented and every paper bill will be here on forum.iv have nothing but respect for respect ADhoc and others .every one make mistakes some of them are cheaper some more expencive, but the point is to learn from them....
i ain no full and i dont think that its not complex procedure ,but i am not making f.... nuclear submarine....there are profesional poeple in boatbuilding here ,that will judge before start of project ..
and my question that u quote mr Ilan ....
hull and superstructure with aluminum will be less than 50k ,so u think the boat cannot be equipt and finish for another 150k for boat simular to this http://www.georgebuehler.com/Idelwild.html

The problem with "cheap" labor is the lack of ability at problem solving.

To build a low cost boat with low cost labor there must be almost NO decisions made by the labor.

To do this you need a COMPLETE set of plans from a pro that gives every detail.Hundreds of pages of information.

Not only a wiring diagram with wire sizes , but also the wire location , method of securing the runs , and going thru bulkheads.

NOTHING can be left out , and you will still have to be on scene 24/7 for every tiny aspect of the build!

Go to lunch and there will be expensive screwups.

You wont have that problem in Croatia. Good education... Good craftsman. Croatian labour may be cheap but a its much higher skill level than what is found in the USA

Main problem is ,there are here some poeple that assumed something and compering Croatia to China or3th world country ,but they should at least spend few minutes on google before they give some answers or facts .
Ive asked question ,,hulland superstructure will be made for 50 k or less and no1
from all the experts here can not give answer of fact why ,for another 150 k boat can not be finished .so hull and superstructure is 25% of the boat.

You are not listening. EQUIPMENT. Marine grade equipment is expensive.

The hull of a boat is the cheapest part of a boat. If you have plans to build anything more sophisticated than a work boat 200k wont work.

everything marine grade is expensive ,but not that much as 99% people think .i think for 150 k u can equip: boat propulsion 8o/90 hp, interior ,doors windows ,navigation etc. i am now constantly working on gathering information about the cost of equipment and contacting suppliers for all the equipment that will be needed ,im not saying iam 100% right but i think boats are really overpriced
