    Well boys i'm
Stateside spending the night in a snowey campground about 30miles north of Bangor, Maine. Hoyt and Timothy-- both incorrect to a degree-- not Canada, Not Newfoundland but a mainland part of Newfoundland --Labrador was referred to as the "Land God Gave Cain". Troy the U.S. had a big military base in Labrador, "Goose Bay" in addition to three on the Island of Newfoundland--South west coast(my home) Earnest Harmon Air Force Base, East coast (450 miles away) Fort Pepperal and a sub base at Argentia often confused by new military posted in as they were going to sunny Argentenia, South America. Surprised they were. Two of my sisters married servicemen from California so it's an area i have visited on several ocassions, LA, San Diego, and of course over the border to TJ. I would strongly recommend a study of Newfoundland history, the birthplace of both Canada and the United States as a must before studying the history of either country. The bible on this being "A History of Newfoundland by Prouse. Keep an eye out for the first edition--having sold at auction for $10,000 big ones. I have a lowely second edition, cost me $100. used. I might add i have read several good histories of California -- Next to Alaska the most independant country in these here United States :D

Goodnight all --off to the bunk--long miles ahead--Geo.

I stand corrected. I was not aware that it was specifically Labrador and not the island that was described as " The Land of Cain". I arrived in Canada with my mother in 1953 at Gander Airport. I shall definitely try and obtain a copy of "A History Of Newfoundland"

That's the sort of thing I'm looking for: a thorough but readable standard work. I just checked and it isn't available on Kindle, though. Of course, that may be a good thing, because according to the reviews it's heavy with illustrations.

But it's $28.27 with free shipping from Amazon in a large paperback format, though, and there's an online scan from the University of Toronto. So one way or another I'll get it read...

Goodmorning all including Scotty, :D Re the Book, It's long and detailed but you will find many references to the other New England colonies and shipping of food and supplies down to them from NFLD. Talk about long and detailed, just finished reading Gotham (History of New York City) over 1300 pages. Too bad I wasnt closer Ì have about 30 books on NFLD--New England history. Rained here all night, Tried out my new camera monitering system, also rained at home but it works great. Finish my coffee and on the road for another 7hrs. next stop Sturbridge, Mass.--- Cheers Geo.

Ahhhhhh so you are around still, so am I, as per the evidence of this post, unless it is another USAnian conspiracy?

It may be just as well that my "GEC" thread was closed as the news of late is dire and everyone who may be classified as a 'contrarian', or disbelievers of the voracity of main stream media and publish their own newsletters seem to be sitting back and waiting for one of several things.
    - - Honesty in big business to prevail - - (not for a LOOONG while yet - the greedy ******** can see more money to get).
    - - Certain fraudulent and manipulated market systems to collapse - - (not whilst the gravy train is still running).
    - - Another Greek and other - - (England, Ireland, Spain and Italy), need for more Euro 'bailout' mirrors & smoke.
    - - A new rash of mortgage foreclosures in USA - - (as soon as the clerks can sign the necessary documents).
    - - Bankruptcy protection of "sovereign-debt-default" of some USA local and state government instrumentalities.
    - - A collapse of major banksters when a sovereign-debt-default causes massive risk insurance claims and so on....
Can a duck pronounce "F"? because a Crow does not seem to be able to either 'Uc, uk, uck' is all they can utter, bloody annoying pests. - - Anyway, I am slowly and contentedly muddling along...

In the local news it is alleged by one Clive Palmer, (mining magnate who is even more attached to conspiracy theory than I could ever be), here in Queensland, that the CIA is funding certain "Green" political campaigns . . . . . . . . . . . WTF, - I did not get any largess ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? Maybe I am perceived as being too green and have my own personal access to Irish Leprechaun pots of gold :D :D  - - - - - - Note to self, email a begging letter to CIA. (Conspiratorial Institute Association)
