crusing sailboat(of any size) as "bug-out" option for Zombie Apocalypse???

This talk of a Zombie Apocalypse is foolishness-we all know it will be a Robo geddon when the cyborgs take over.

But before that it will be a massive earthquake on the west coast of N America.
Hopefully a whole bunch of little ones will take the stresses off.

I can be on my boat and gone,with enough supplies for a year,within 30 minutes.
Give me 2 hours and I can be prepared for years.

So no matter what happens, be prepared..it doesn't need to be expensive.

 

Rather fight zombies than cyborgs. Zombies are slow and easy to kill. Sure there are lots of them, but never seen one swim. Cyborgs, are smart, fast, carry weapons and take heavy firepower. They also don't need to breath so swining or diving should not be a problem. Got to work on my x-ray gun to shot the cyborgs.

 

AHhhh maties we 60'2 kids are way ahead of ya-- We went thru this whole senerio back in the late 60's early 70's- Anyhow before i left the Rock 25yrs. ago (NFLD) In a wilderness natural cave I tucket away two 45gal. plastic drums (screw on rubber gasket lids) loaded with survival gear. (and I do mean survival gear). The Island is teeming with wild animal protein on the hoof and I have the vessel to get me there. Thats where this boy is headed if she all goes to hell in a handcart. Failing my using it imagine some mulitude of years from now when the brown stuff finally hits the fan a roaming half starved survivor accidenty finds this stuff--- Meanwhile I keep and always have kept a years advance supply of food at home protected by S&W ---

Padilac, I'm envisioning an encounter with gun toting thugs on a GoFast boat, so I'd

be mostly wanting something to instantly prevent them from retaliating by returning fire, which they would certainly do if I tossed a sticky Molitov cocktail onto their boat and it was a 'sticky' rather than wide spreading thin liquid.

I wouldn't care if it will surely destroy their boat in two minutes, I'm only concerned with stunning them for the next 3 long seconds while I open fire with guns.

Likewise, I wouldn't want a surface RC, because while it might be hard to hit(shotgun might work) they would see I was trying to 'get them' and would open fire on me and my boat, regardless of what the RC bomb might do to theirs.

The first indication I want them to get that I'm not surrendering or that I'm even on the boat needs to be able to prevent them from doing even any "dying gasp" retaliation shooting at me. I'd assume they have multiple guns trained on me just prior. I'd need to have all their "bells rung" by a blast.

Besides a shotgun and pistols I'd go for semi-auto .308 assault rifle with several sizes of clips, and whatever is most lethal(API?) ammo I can get, and a movable shield of Kevlar/steel to hide behind while I open fire from either cockpit or inside the boat from porthole. 22lr just loses too much power over distance and might not even put holes in a reasonably stout boat's hull...but I'd still pack a 22 pistol and rifle just 'cause.

West, I recently took "OSHA" worksite safety course....

the max distance between rest platforms for "straight ladder" is 160ft or '16 stories' straight up!!!

I believe that corresponds to tallest clipper ships, but according to OSHA you should be able to make up and down without a rest.
