It seems that all the major diesel manufactures are now making their small engines without decompresion levers. Does anyone know I can get a realible
Brand with this feature included on a new motor.

    I doubt it.
Bought a Chinese Yanmar clone a couple of years ago, with decompression.
If you have a specific engine in mind, check if there is a plug where the valve should have been. In that case it may be possible to install a valve.

Might be easier to find a real marine engine , with decompression levers and rebuild it .

Almost all modern small diesels are lawn implement or truck supplied.

A modern engine can use a hydraulic start system.

A hand pump can re pressurise the start accumulator should that be necessary.
