One of those has to be a Dutch company-- Those would be the guys i'd have faith in getting the job done. Regardless this is going to be one interesting piece of work. Yo-- count me in I think I still have an old brass hard hat and a pair of lead boots kicking around somewhere in the far reaches of my shop--anyone got one of those old manual air pumps :)

I was thinking, slice in half twice. Fore and aft of damage. Tow two ends to a drydock..assemble as a shorty. Sell the center as scrap to pay for rejoinung ends.
    Ok. Who wants in?

Seen a youtube how to use a oiless shop compressor as a hookah dive rig. Got a little pancake porter cable should work. I also have an ARCAIR sea-torch and bout half a box of broco rod (underwater thermite cutting rod). Think that'll be enough? :?:

The new shorter liner could be called the 'ACCORDIAN'. Sales pitch is, Greatly reduced passenger load than originally designed. Gian would go for it I bet! :)

    Hoyte,
You could be the Captain. A sailing master would do operations. Your duties would be to regale passengers with salty tales and language and pose for pictures with them. A captain with an eye patch! That's a novelty!

At one time, you could get a panamanian captains license for $500. I read some fellow in prison got one while in prison. So, getting you papers isn't a problem. If not Panama, there's ceraintly some place in the world with corrupt embassy personel. :)
We can ask Schettino where he purchased his, maybe?
