Please tell me your opinions. This is an 87' boat with a 24' beam. As you can see it does sleep 12 comfortably and accommodates a view of four in two sets of bunk beds in the aft. All the beds in this boat ARE full house size beds. Please reply and rate. I would love to hear some feedback. I'm only 13

Opinion? Start designing from something smaller. Say, 14' is good size to start :)

Since I've not mastered programs like auto cad, making a 14ft boat on paintbrush (the program I use) will look extremely fake because a boat that size can only have so much detail. What about 50?

Really? Okay, I'll bite, what is the metacentric height GM on this vessel? Bottom loading? Prismatic coefficient? We'll assume a fair high initial stability, but where's it's critical statical angle fall? How about a price per pound of displacement, assuming you know what it's displacement might be?

Look, it's a weak picture of a medium size power vessel at best and I'm being nice. You can't possably think you've designed anything more then mouse motivated brush strokes can you? Just going by the plan form of the sheer line, you haven't the foggiest idea about 27 meter yachts. It might be best if you toyed with rubber dinghies for a while, before venturing out of the bath tub into real life. Now, go back in there and wash the back of your hands, not just the fronts and don't forget behind your ears too . . .

Thanks for the feedback. I agree with your statement "You can't possably think you've designed anything more then mouse motivated brush strokes can you?". These are just rough sketches. Eventually I want to turn them into 3D models using auto cad . I haven't been having much luck using it. Before I go to take a class, do you have any suggestions for some other programs?

Books first, as suggested by Alik (but not just a single one, take a look here: http://books.boatdesign.net/), and only then the software.
    Cheers

Well, for 13 I would say stick to it.

I wouldn't call your pictures a design - more "styling and layout". To design, as a previous poster already covered, you need to display more understanding of the technical aspects of stability etc. But I like your style.

And keep drawing boats... youre obviously talented. Draw hundreds of boats...who cares whether they are buildable. It takes years of napkin sketches before a designer develops his own trademark style, wheelhouse type, sheer line...

That's a good plan. Don't forget to carefully look at other boat designs. You need to train your eye to grasp the right proportions, shapes, technical details and even colors. Observe the way various boats have been done and try to understand why they've been done that way.
Yacht design is a mixture of practical experience, science and art. The winning designs are the ones which have managed to discover and apply the right proportions of these ingredients. :)
    Cheers!
