The Marketplace Forums can be useful for members who know one another well from forum discussions and offline communications and wish to post boatbuilding tools, drafting tools, molds and tooling, and other professional equipment for sale or trade. However, caution and good judgement should always be used. Especially when considering any business with anyone not already well known to you and trusted, due diligence must be used to confirm details and identity and be sure the transaction is safe before any money or property changes hands. Always use good judgement and perform due dilligence and follow these guidelines.

The thought was for Catbuilder.... belatedly but I happened upon it the other day... 4 may suffice, but at 140kg each? - - that is a lot of weight - - Plus batteries - - Plus 2 x gensets    - I feel a pair of diesel engines and a separate genset for the galley would be a better option... It all depends on personal needs and desires etc...

    For the electric (7.5KW) or diesel (10hp@2200 or 14hp@3000), agreed, - but weight of the electric/hybrid is near triple ... Diesel saildrive is 2 x 144kg - - - but electric saildrive at 2 x 140kg needs batteries=40kg+40kg (a guess@the weight for 2 banks of 200Ah@48VDC), 1 x genset=200kg, charger/inverter & controller=60kg

    Hybrid-package=620kg - - vs - - Diesel-PV-package=643kg

Except when the TOTAL SYSTEM in my boat is considered, then PV-panels=120kg, inverter-battery-charge-regulator=50kg and (I do not have the LiFePO4 packages..) but still AGM-batteries-250AH-at-24VDC=185kg - - - My option is 23kg heavier but lots cheaper AGM/LiFePO4 battery pricing being the difference 24~18 months ago...

A brief storm, hail (about 1/3 inch in diameter mostly) and rain and almost no useful visibility... PERIOD - did not try radar as storm passed within minutes...
    - The storm about nothing to see = 4556
    - A nice repair/rebuild in the yard = 4560
    - Ready to go/sale? = 4562

That may be, 'pay the storage and it is yours', sort of stuff... Might make an interesting thread except for incurring the "owners wrath" if the owner is still looking to sell...

Some of the points identified may make a good case to suggest to self-design/builders to get knowledgeable and expert advice before building - or - buying...

If you dont know what it is I suppose it coud be --nice--. What it is,- is a white out thats the calm before the storm, it is iminent heavy rain ,no visability and high winds,'

Nice-- I dont fking think so, If I was able I would drop the hook for an hour especially if near land and certainly one eye on the GPS.

Radar is useless in that and just as important is so is every body elses

I would except somebody OVERSIZED it and the image more than covers 2 x 1920 x 1080 screens set side by side... If you read the post, the storm lasted for minutes, then passed on... I was about 3 miles from the river mouth in 15 ft of water travelling at about 4knots... It cleared before I had gone half a mile and 12 ft of water...

I was advised holding close to the mangroves was good whereas further upstream, beyond the small cat? is very risky... I will be there around 8am Tuesday... Cno should hold fast with the forecast worst case winds as the anchor held easily in 40knots on Sth Percy...

CNO has dragged past my boat (DITTO) contacting it on the way past , this is what I have been told from a reliable source , there is a good chance if the wind drops out tonight that your boat will collide with mine when the tide turns . This is the third time within the past week I have had yachts
drifting into mine . I am thinking of painting a bullseye on the side.
