By the way we still have to add air intake extensions either side and the rear end that will cover the drives!

Marc (VeryTricky), thanks for the inspiration for the hull and the good looks are down to you Petter!

Holy Crap! I've been watching this from the start, and it's been quite an odyssey. Those pictures at the end of the boat in action are just way cool. Congratulations guys. What a cool boat.

That boat is just darn good looking. I just hope you guys don't paint it with anything too bright (like lime green). :p

Very interesting! Will this boat go under the UIM offshore cockpit rules?

It qualifies under UIM canopy rules without any issue. There is a tiny issue with the RYA Marithon class rules regarding the size of the opening, as these rules are very inflexable and not open to any interpretation, so a small modification may be needed there.

Ok, but I'm not sure I understand. I thought you had to have a roll bar and a support strut (side by side cockpits) according to §508.07 in the UIM rule book?

I will take a photo this weekend, when the boat is actually finished.

The boat qualifies under the UIM Partial canopy rules - the following full canopy rules apply: Partially canopied boats may have restraint systems fitted which, if fitted, must comply with the following Offshore Rules: 508.01 (Crew Immersion Test), 508.17 (Air Supply), 508.19 (stop buttons for engine cut-off), 508.21 (Rear of Head Protection) and 508.22 (Specification of 5 or 6 strap Harness).

Instead of the escape hatch there needs to be a 1.3m square opening - we needed to clarify where to measure this from and whether it was allowed to have a radius or not - photos to come when it's all tidied up!

Lurvio - Not Lime green but we have a few sponsors stickers on the boat now!

Thanks Cookee! I understand now  Sorry for spamming your thread but I have an unhealthy interest in cockpit design and cockpit regulations :)

I heard a rumor that you hit 55 knots during testing? Impressive for a big boat and 3 liter diesels!

No problem - it was 64mph and it was too rough to go flat out! The Yanmar BY260's are going well and can't wait until they've loosened up a bit!

Hey guys, I was wondering about the engines. What safety gear is there on the engines against overrevving when the boat hops out of the water?
