Yes, that's it. It was also older video footage just in the news (nrk1) of that same boat. I was almost crewing them 2009 but my holidays didn't match with their free berth.. Lets hope the best for them.

 

Well it seems the same things are mentioned as in the previous pirate thread, only new events.

I'm not sure how you think you can put a fire out by keeping it burning, just smaller. When you turn your back it's just going to flare up again.

The more successfull piracy becomes the more will have a go at it. As Wynand mentioned it's already taking on here - with as per usual the honest and decent that isn't allowed to have any human rights like defending themselves.

History seems to be repeating itself, so what and who cares. It's a lot easier to do nothing than to actually sort the problem out. These kinds of things work in only one way. You put the fire out completely or be happy with getting burnt. If there is weeds in a field you better take them all out or the next seeding will replace those you took out.

We can go in circles all the time and nothing will change. We are going to have a pirate thread over and over and over again untill you throw up seeing them.

You either have to stomp piracy out and make a good example of it or as I said live with it. I don't think pirates killed enough people and at a grand enough scale - as long as it isn't US they kill eh.

I don't know how far you want piracy to go to realize it's a disaster. You will only be able to sail in your local harbour under protection because outside the pirates are waiting, and you will still get those wanting to protect the pirates rights.

I also don't understand how it could be ok with some of you if innocent men, women and children are killed by pirates, yet you want to protect their's. Maybe you don't really mean the problem should be sorted out at it's origin.

Being poor is not an excuse to plunder, **** and murder those who are not too lazy to get up every day and work to be able to eat every day.

We live in a very sick world governed and ruled by pathetics. The clue is if those in 'charge' have not resolved an issue or put it into a positive working direction in six months then they are disfunctional and should be replaced.

There is a odd thinking of the pirates- the indignation that their peers have been killed and threats of retaliation against those they hold. It's as if they demand a civility in their dealings.. "we have a simple request, pay us the ransom we demand and no one will be hurt" The rule of the gun perhaps but a rule none the less. They feel indignation that the rules are not followed..

I think its time for a bit of a wake up call- bring back summary executions for piracy.
There is a larger rule of law which they are in violation of. Make the law clear and consequence for breaking it clearer.

 

Without a base they can't re-fuel or re-arm or feed themselves. Destroy the lair and all their cohorts.
