Is it possible to build in steel if not originally designed for steel?

    Thank you all you have confirmed my thinking I know just enough to spend a lot of time and money to get in way over my head.
    So I will now see what I can find plan wise in steel that fits my needs.

    There are a lot of plans for steel boats available. Perhaps if you state what your requirements for the vessel are, people could point you at designs that seem to fit.
