Well, the only person it would let me is Allan Rockwood. So I gave him a couple...He was mumbling something about "Warmest year ever".

Speaking of public reputation: it's odd to see a beaming Al Gore every time I look at one of your posts. I know you're doing it as a joke, but it that really the face you want people to associate with your name?:D

this article could be for adults only so a few of you might want to skip this one

Point being that the oceans are being effected and the more we study them the more science finds out what we've been screwing up. I remember a while back one of the deniers complaints about CO2 was that much of it ( as much as 50% by some estimates ) seems to just disappear into the system somewhere. Well these deep ocean studies are revealing that a lot of CO2 ends up in the deep ocean trenches. Amazing how complex the system really is and even more amazing to think we can add untold gigatons of CO2 without screwing something up.

Systems kinda funky Mark, there's more rules than what is mentioned on this thing but its pretty simple unless your trying to get tricky with it. I suppose its a nice way to clap someone on the back and say nice job or something to that. Don't worry about it, you were definitely an innocent bystander on this one ( aint that a switch eh ).

I've been working my way through this site and thought I'd pas it along
its got a lot of interesting stuff

this essay about Rapid Global Climate Shift places the evidence and the history of its discovery in some interesting perspective

There's very little disagreement about global warming in Sweden. I guess we have deniers here as well, but being a pragmatic lot we still agree on what has to be done. Even if you believe that the connection between CO2 and global warming isn't proven, it's still sensible to take precaution because it's possible that the consequences, if the connection exist, are unacceptable.

It takes laws and taxation to put the economical consequencies of pollution or CO2 emission on the polluters. Regulating the use of common finite resources (like grazing grounds) is one of the oldest reasons for laws. Our atmosphere is another finite resource. If you don't believe the lawmakers and the government should handle such questions, what then is the point with a government and an organized society?

From my point of view I trust our current government in Sweden with increasing CO2 taxes AND reducing other taxes with the same amount, or more. Our former social democratic government was only half as trustworthy; they would only increase taxes. I understand the reluctance to put the tax weapon into the hands of politicians who want to increase public spending, but then you should elect other polititians.

Increased CO2 taxes is ment to improve the competitiveness of energy production that doesn't emit CO2. It's not fair competition when CO2 polluters can avoid paying for the consequences of CO2 emission.

There are alternatives to fossile fuel. In order of importance: nuclear energy, hydroelectric power, wind, sun and bio fuel. I don't see the transformation from fossile fuel to these power sources as an end to modern society.

That IS pragmatic. You should appreciate these perspectives, as well then:
The money could be better spent on other things.
If we fail as a society, what good will that do for the environment?
Sweden's output of CO2 is miniscule relative to the world that desperately wants to develop. How do you propose to stop Africa, for example, from wanting what we have in the West - education... like with contraceptives?

Cat told me it was Alec Baldwin! Speaking of going down in history...

That's coming first, actually. It is being deflated (its value) as we speak. I recommend you buy at least one bank transport bag of silver coins because that's what money may look like in five years. Who wants paper from a government that can't be trusted?

That comes after you stock up with at least a year of Mountain House, http://www.mountainhouse.com/ (there are other brands, of course), candles and water, BTW.

He seems to talk alot about pulling together with your neighbors and such. I'm more worried about protecting from my neighbors.
Oh, yeah, I heard him advertise Non-Hybridseeds.com and FoodInsurance.com. I don't know anything about them.

So we should go back to tepees and travois. Interesting concept, while enemies overseas will keep building tanks to crush us. Good advice.
