Freeships control net ?

Anyone have any ideas about organizing the control net in Freeships ?
I am having some trouble fairing some areas of a hull.

Yeah, some ideas... But I fear you have to be more specific, post your hull model or a screenshot and some detail on what you want to improve.

 

I think a more general idea of how different people set up the control net . The number of vertical lines , angles , spacing, and way to get the best results.

As a general rule, less is better. I've learned that a finer net gets difficult and too time-consuming to fair.

so thrue and saying that even blonder: most drawings i start have a net of only 3x3

 

On a ply chine design i think it would be good to orient the vertical edges so that they follow the conical projection. That would be to align with the apex of the projection . Of course this location can only be estimated , as there is no guide. Doing this will change the point spacing and make fairing more difficult . Do you trust the developments of flat panels that come from Freeships ? My experience would lead me to believe that it is not perfect.

 

Another question is what to do when bulk heads and interiors are added to the design .
Now the nicely faired design is all messed up and you have to start again. Is there a function that will note the original location of the faired net. I know that there is a note of lines when importing lines from out side ,but can they be reset ?

frank, i only used printed paper and that was pretty accurate but people do build boats using freeship
did you try that scow junk in your gallery, looks it should fold nicely together
start small check and go bigger, why the scepticism?

 

Having bent ply onto boats in the past , it just does not look right to me at times.
I will post a screen shot later.
