Design brief for anti-whaling vessel?

That is one mean looking boat... Paint some teeth on it and it will scare whales away. Looks fast, very narrow, like a ballyhoo.

Thought so, I followed the X bow threads with interest and thought it looked familiar. Looks like a great boat. But I really doubt any eco terrorists can afford something like this. They can't even afford to eat meat. The Steve Irwin only carries tofu.

Richard, that is a smaller version than the blue and white one earlier? I see this boat working well at 50m but not at 30m. Do you, personally, have any experience with these?

 

One of my favourites. No doubt if you hadn’t already noticed that and I think that the PTB version from Damen Yards looks “serious business”.

Would you prefer one of these babies, with a painted shark mouth and a huge PA system playing Wagner’s "Ride of the Valkyries" in full throttle, rather than the floating solar powered laundry hanger that was shown in the beginning of this thread if you would like to make a statement to the whaling fleet? I imagine Whale meat taste like RED meat just a little fishier.

On the Ax bows, can't believe that the latest designs look like WWI ships...I guess those guys knew what they were doing

They should buy different boats to crash and then give them crash ratings like is done with cars. Lets see a 70' Hatteras against a steel mothership.... Now that is ratings...

The one shown is about 35meter, and I think that one would be the minimum size for such a adventure.

I don't understand how does guys are not in jail for maritime mischief of some kind. Are Australian and maritime laws so unenforceable. I don't understand international maritime law but what they do must be illegal.

 

I'd like some Japanese Buddists or whatever raise some hell

with some Australian ranches over some "don't eat animals" issue....or maybe drop a "prop fouler" in front of a ship bound for the USA with fresh Australian or New Zealand lamb.

Maybe some Hindus could cut fences on Australian's cattle ranches because they consider the cows sacred animals.

Don't the Australians routinely slaughter wild kangaroos for dog food?

I'd say the Australian Govt has a lot to answer for by letting these types operate from their ports, especially given that the Japanese are operating under SELF IMPOSED quotas lower than allowed by international agreements.
