We never are told the truth, but the headlines keep popping up.

I seem to recall seeing a picture of the sinking ship, looked to me that it was a surface to surface battle. I cannot seem to find that photo now.

Another derelict boat. This one is in an auto salvage yard in the Mojave Desert. I have a weird fascination with boats living out their last days far from the water, for some reason....

I've only seen the red/white/blue one with the canopy. They must have made more than one with a canopy.

Likely another tale of landlocked guy who is dreaming of that future sea voyage...working on a 'fix-me-up'.

Is the boat a design anyone recognizes? When I first stopped to look at it, I was surprised to find it was a steel hull.

Those powder extinguishers burn like fire on an open cut.

I accidentally set mine off on my hovercraft once. I was stranded and could not get the engine started. Had an ugly and bleeding rope burn on the web of my hand from all the failed pull starts. Then whack..............on the open wound the extinguisher went off on me.

I had a brush with the guys in the red truck a few years back when my garage/workshop caught fire. My next-door neighbour of the time, and the previous neighbour who was visiting him, were both stinking drunk having finished their first 24 pack and just started on another. One of them staggers over to my place and wants to open the garage door, which was really hot by this time: anyone see the movie? You could actualy see the smoke going in and out of the gap under the door as the fire breathed. Not wishing the flash-back to totally demolish my garage and maybe the house too, I chased him off my property just as the fire truck came down the road.

The other guy chose that time to back his car out of his driveway because the hydrant was by his driveway. The timing was up to Cirque du Soleil standards, he ran right into the side of the moving firetruck. With the penetrating intellect and lightning reflexes of the utterly drunk, when he realized the car was stopped he floored it! The rending noise as the firetruck continued past, ripping off odd bits like bumers, rear lights and plastic moldings would have made any movie maker proud! That cost him his licence for six months.

The 30 seconds it took the guys to knock down the fire was a bit of an anti-climax after that. They never even bothered to connect to the hydrant, those things carry tons of water all ready for use. The really annoying thing was having the heavy boat that was hanging from the rafters drop down on the new boat waiting for paint, destroying both. Ouch.

They were both stinking drunk on a 24-pack? Amateurs....:p

My 14-year old son was visiting me for a week one time while I had my motor home parked beside the Palo Verde Lagoon, and he struck up a friendship with an old guy who decided to teach him how to fish. They turned into great pals.

The drunk next door backed into the old boy's car while they were in it one afternoon getting ready to head out, with the old boy laying on his horn to try to stop him. Unfortunately, the drunk thought it was his own horn, so he kept right on backing while he fiddled with his horn button.

My fourteen-year old son cracked up when the old boy in his 90's snarled, "by God, when someone gets that old and useless, they oughta just take 'em out and shoot 'em." The drunk he was saying it about was in his 70's....
